Anyone who has tried Platinum brand of tint? What is your experience on it?
So far, based on early observation, it has good sun protection properties as I left it under direct 12noon sunlight on a bright sunny day, and when I returned after more than two hours, malamig pa rin sa loob.
Would like to gather other experiences and feedback on Platinum tint users.
Thanks and Merry Christmas to all!!!

Panget sobra.
Those are the tints that came with my car (free from CASA)
Since bago yung kotse, kaya naman palamigin yun cabin nung aircon BUT ramdam mo pa rin init nung araw.
So after 4 months I switched to Llumar tints. It's way better, believe me. I don't need to switch the aircon to "2" just to cool the cabin, and hinde masyado ramdam yun init nung araw as compared to platinum.
And the adhesive of Platinum is like an obsessed ex girlfriend, grabe kapit! Especially the rear glass where the defoggers were, the guys who retinted my car took three, four hours just to remove all the adhesive and at the same time not destroy the defogger.
The 3M FX is even better than Platinum! And the 3M FX is again crap to begin with (have them on the other cars my family owns, gets replaced too eventually with 3M CS or something better)

Baka sir malamig pa rin yung cabin is because your car is an SUV. Napansin ko rin kasi yun na hindi ganoon kainit ang SUV kapag nabilad sa araw probably because malaki yung cabin, hindi mabilis maipon yung init kumbaga.
For quality tints pero affordable pa rin, I'd go with SolarGard or Llumar. 3M, medyo tagilid.

I'm going to change mine soon to SolarGard kapag may budget na ulit.Last edited by Chikselog; December 24th, 2012 at 06:31 PM.

Yes it is.
Ever wondered why dealers changed their free tints from the usual 3M FX to Platinum? And just to have 3M you will either have to pay for it or beg your SA just to have 3M's installed?
Cause Platinum is cheap.
Next time you'll see they're gonna offer Lumina tintsWhich is just how much, a thousand or two for the whole car? :bwahaha:

Good point! Baka nga matagal talaga uminit sa loob dahil sa laki ng volume ng CX9.
Yung 3M BC series, I thought OK na yon. FX series yung cheapest class ng 3M. Pero if you're saying 3M BC series is not good, kailangan pala iwasan ko yun.
Thanks for the feedback. Would appreciate more inputs, feedback and experience from everyone.

Yung 3M I don't know lang if it's because I had the lightest shade of BC installed. Maybe darker shades have greater heat rejection pero as I've read from the SolarGard thread yata, yung HP Quantum 28 nila na almost ka level ng BC35, maganda raw yung heat rejection, barely felt DAW yung init ng araw.
Pero honestly I'd like to see the tint first in actual for me to decide. Iba iba kasi tayo, what might be a good heat rejection for you may still not be that good enough for me and vice versa hehe.

used MNSR20 platinum tint on my front windshield. FOR ME, napakaganda ng heat rejection.... the only reason why i change it after 2 months to 3M BC35 coz nadidiliman ako sa gabi... mostly pa naman ng biyahe ko eh sa gabi...
