Anyone here who has the gas variant? The equipment on this variant is very good specially if you avail the anniversary promo rate. 7 speed DSG to boot!

Got the 1.4 TSI AT variant.
Some observations for the last 2 weeks driving.
FC: 8-10 km/liter in typical Dec Christmas traffic. Moderate traffic from Pasig to Sta Rosa yielded 15 km/liter while loaded with 5 adults, 1 toddler and some bags.
RIDE: Handling is great, grips the road well, comfortable seats as I don't feel previous pain from another sedan after long trips. 0-to-100 kph is really around 9sec, able to kickstart from traffic light stop. Unofrtunately, the passenger seat is too low and no way to raise it. Driver seat can be raised. Oh, and it can climb mild uphill climb at D and not stepping on gas.
INTERIOR: Fit and finish is top notch, looks a bit more conservative than modern asian cars. I don't like the white/gray part of the seat covers. Not easy to solve with all-black leather seatcovers as the front seats come with seat side airbags. Equipment is average (no GPS/Satnav) but looks elegant with piano blacks. One thing I'm missing is a reverse cam. The 8-point sonar is good enough though. But I will still add reverse cam later, perhaps after warranty expires. Oh, and the center console can be adjusted horizontal and vertical, which is great. Same as my previous old German car.
EXTERIOR: To me, it looks conservative and elegant from the outside. The rims are not the best with this variant, I was expecting multi-spoke rims as shown in the brochures and website, and not this plain looking parol five pointed rim. But the wheels that come with it are very good, grippy and very quiet, they are Michelins. I understand some stocks were delivered with another brand of wheels. The front fascia looks conservative VW with standard halogens and no HIDs, there is DRL though but single point and not a line, the side is good looking but hard to identify as Jetta (can be mistaken for other sedans except for the tire center cap), but the most elegant angle for me is the Audi-ish rear with it's trapeziodal lights.
DEALER SUPPORT: I have to say very good so far. I brought my unit to Sheridan (closest to me), and I was attended to without delay even without advanced schedule. The first time was to clarify some functions of the power locks and power windows. Power lock from driver side can be overridden by any of the other 3 doors, so not the safest for kids unless you activate childlock. There is speed sensing lock which is nice. Also, the lock for power windows rollup/down can only prevent rear windows, not the passenger window. The front passenger window can always rollup/down its window even the driver has activated the window lock feature. Also, the driver has auto up/down control (one-touch) for any of the four windows. Service advisor confirmed that PMS is 12months/15,000km whichever comes first. Can also bring the car for mid-inspection at 6months/7,500km at no charge. Oh, one gripe, I can't donwload any free electronic owner's manual which I can do for all the other cars I have/had.
My biggest complaint - the stock horn is hilariously too soft, sounds like the manual airhorn of the puto vendors - toot-toot. Whenever I use it, people laugh and just ignore it. This can be easily solved with a couple of silver Europas.
Overall, at sub-P1M and with all the equipment and features stock, it's a great value for money sedan car. Oh, the headlights are adjustable as well. I just hope VW dealers sell enough of Jettas (and related cars) to get the parts sufficiently stocked in country. I plan to keep it for a long time.

Very well written review sir. I dare say even much better than some automotive articles out there.
I actually ordered a unit and I'm just waiting for the January stocks to arrive. Reading your review made me even more anxious.
One other thing I observed, seems like aftermarket parts are hard to come by for the VW

If Jetta sells (time will tell), parts availability will improve. The good thing is that Shangri-La Manila and Cebu have ordered a lot of Jettas and some Passat for their hotel fleet, so this helps build the momentum.
Were you able to still get the anniversary promo and which dealer?

Yup, made it just in the nick of time. I was actually being offered a unit that was for Shang (excess daw). It was a TDi 1.6 but I felt it lacked too many features.
I think the car needs a nice rear duck spoiler, would you know where we can get one?

Could also be due to the high demand that the manufacturer prioritized new car deliveries vs. spare...
