Para sa mga ba-byahe this Friday. Better leave early or find alternate routes!

ADVISORY: Number coding is lifted today, December 23, 2011 (Friday), at 1:00 pm except Makati and Las Piñas.

Oct. 26 declared holiday for Eid'l Adha

MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino has signed Proclamation 488 declaring Oct. 26 a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid’l Adha or the Muslims’ Feast of Sacrifice.

Under the proclamation signed by the President on Oct. 9, Republic Act 9849 or the law on regular holidays and nationwide special days provided that Eid’l Adha would be a regular or non-working holiday.

‘Eid’l Adha is one of the two greatest feasts of Islam. The date of the festival is based on the declaration made by Saudi Arabia’s highest religious body,” the proclamation read.

The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos recommended that the observance of the Eid’l Adha be on Oct. 26 and Eid’l Adha prayer be performed on the final declaration of the Saudi government.
