Buti nalang hndi CebuPac ang airline, kundi nasunog na lahat ng passengers.
The 777 was designed to evacuate all its passengers in less than 90sec., even if half its doors are inoperable. Pag CebuPac yan, 9 min na hindi pa nila alam kung ano gagawin.
Kudos to the crew for having the presence of mind in following the protocol in emergency situations like this. As for the pilots, it's still under investigation whether the crash was caused by pilot error for landing short of the runway, or if there were other troubles that caused the plane to land like that.Signature

A relative's husband is a pilot with Asiana Airlines. Pilipino rin siya and taga-Paranaque sila. So I dropped by her fb page to ask and mangumusta sana, but it seems okay naman sila, thank God.

Pilot error nga, baguhan pa lang si pilot sa pag gamit ng 777.
43 flying hours pa lang siya using the said aircraft. pero veteran na pilot na.

Hmmm... and then I've read they had to land manually since the ILS is down for maintenance daw.
Anyway, on to the latest news:
Local fire department says one of the teenage girls killed in incident may have been run over by emergency vehicle.
The Asiana Airlines Boeing 777 that crashed at San Francisco's airport on Saturday was travelling "significantly below" its intended speed and its crew tried to abort the landing just seconds before it hit the seawall in front of the runway, the US National Transportation Safety Board said on Sunday.
Information collected from the plane's cockpit voice recorder and flight data recorder indicated that there were no signs of trouble until seven seconds before impact, when the crew tried to accelerate.
Later on Sunday, the local fire department said that an emergency vehicle rushing to the scene of the crash may have run over one of the two teenage Chinese girls killed in the incident.Last edited by gearhead000; July 8th, 2013 at 07:25 PM.

Asiana crash dead from China were 'best friends'
The two teenage Chinese girls killed in a South Korean passenger jet crash in San Francisco were best friends and promising students, reports said Monday, citing grief-stricken classmates and teachers.
Wang Linjia and Ye Mengyuan studied together at high school in Jiangshan in the eastern province of Zhejiang, the Beijing Morning Post said, citing Ye's relatives, who speculated they may have sat in the same row on the plane.
A picture of Wang was stuck in a hedge outside her high school Monday, surrounded by six white paper lilies and two chrysanthemums, flowers of mourning in China.
In the image Wang wears her school uniform, smiles for the camera and flashes a V-sign.
Wang, 17, was an active and acclaimed student leader, according to her classmates.
"I feel very depressed after learning the news this morning," said Lu Hao, a fellow student. "She was very friendly to all the classmates."
