My friends & families are planning for a 4D/3N trip to Camotes Island this April. We are around 20 pax. About 17 adults, 3 kids.
Although I have searched the net for some info, I'm sure a lot of tsikoteers could give a more valuable & first hand info regarding Camotes.
Here are my queries:
1. What are the boat schedules from Cebu to Camotes? Rates? Travel time?
2. Which beach resort could you recommend? Rates? Contact info?
3. What's the cheapest way to go around Camotes Island to visit other tourist spots? Rates? Contact info?
Looking forward to your replies.

March 9th, 2011 12:46 PM #2Went there last June as part of a badminton buddy's birthday celebration. We stayed at Santiago Bay Garden. It is an unpretentious beachfront hotel with extremely friendly and accommodating staff.
Try to get travel/tour tips from the staff, especially from the receptionists.
There are very few vehicles on the islands. Can't remember now if we took a multi-cab or a habal-habal from the port to the hotel. To go around, if you ride, you can rent the bikes. Alternately, you can choose to be driven around. We rented ours from the drivers who hang around across the street from the resort.
At most of the sites we went to, Globe surprisingly had a stronger signal than Smart. In fact, we could barely use Smart during our stay there.
Also, we didn't see any ATMS. So bring cash.
For Sunday mass, we went to a church under construction about 20 minutes away from the resort. It was surreal in the sense that it was like traveling back in time. All almost all the women wore veils; the men were in their Sunday best. Our group stood out uncomfortably in our shorts and shirts. They used an overhead projector to display the responses and the songs. And offertory collection was in terms of pesos and centavos. I think we practically doubled the monthly collection for that month with our donation, even though our total didn't reach P500.
For pasalubongs, we went to the market on Poro Island to get ours.
As for tourist attractions, I am sure you have gotten enough information from your research.
Hope this helps.
