Need comments po! Pwede ba mix ang Dexron III at Dexron VI ATF, planning to do another D&F in the near future. Alam ko, back speced ang synthetic Dexron VI sa mga ATs using Dexron III. Pwede kaya D&F lang where it will mix with the old Dexron III or full fluid exchange na? Whiz DIII/M ATF ang gamit ko ngayon.

Appreciate your comments on this! TIA!

dexron VI can be used on vehicles that requires dexron III,
dexron III cannot be used on vehicles that requires dexron VI,

to be on the safe side, do not mix them up, kasi there are certain transmission that are sensitive to the different slippage/viscosity characteristics provided by each dexron series...

Does it mean only a full fluid exchange must be done para no mixing will occur? Sa ATF dialysis ba, hindi mix ang new at old fluid? Thanks sa input, miko101130!

^ Yup, you'll need a full fluid change. The best would be to do a dialysis IMO.

if im not mistaken, sa atf dialysis, you can achieve 90% efficiency sa pag palit ng new against the old...

just a reminder if ever mag atf dialysis ka, kung example 10 liters and laman atf, magdala ka extra 2 liters para totally ma flush luma, mahirap pag saktuhan lang dala fluid... and never accept the offers na need mo maglagay mga ATF additives!, or any other stuff except the atf fluid itself.... its best na dala mo agad na yung atf na gusto mo... keysa sa shop ka bumili that way you decide kung anung brand at anung quality ng fluid ang gagamitin.

And if your ATF is really bad, you'll need more than 2litres extra. I bought a 1997 Corona Exsior in 2006 from an elderly lady who did not change the ATF eversince she bought it brand new. (mileage was only 50,000kms)... it took us 20L of ATF to get the system cleaned out. But it was worth it as we never had problems with the AT until we sold the car.

The atf is still clean because I installed an inline spin on lube filter, B173S, after the radiator cooler going to tranny sump. Am using Whiz Dexron III/M now, just want to try any Dexron VI atf, I thjnk synthetic grade na ito, thinking might improve the performance and prolong the service life of my tranny. Wala naman problem, baka lang gumanda pa hatak with new type of atf.

bro, yung inline filter mo na baldwin hydraulic type ba yan?
kasi before sinubukan ko din install ng inline filter sa atf line, pero meh back pressure... kasi mataas resistance nang filter media sa hydraulic fluid, so mag decrease ang volume na makaka balik sa sump, at more often mag by-pass mode ang tranny.

Lube filter din ang B173S, with 20 psid bpv pressure setting. Alam ko, mas low viscosity ang atf than motor oil, so it can pass through easily sa filter media at ang filter head na gamit ko ay fuel filter head with pump kaya once na dumaan sa orifice with one way flapper, nowhere to go ang atf but to the sump, alam ko, zero ang pressure doon. Using this for more than three months na, so far, nothing unusual ako feel sa tranny, maganda pa nga performance ngayon. Kung may back pressure, magkaroon ng leaks sa mga clamped hose, wala naman, malinis at dry lahat, wala din enlargement ang hose from the cooler to the filter.

Sa looks ng atf, tested using white napkin, absorbed kaagad ng napkin ang atf from the dipstick, without residues left, very clean, no particles that can be seen, the color is the same as when it was first poured in.

Anyway, that also comes into my mind, to use hydraulic filter for atf, still looking for it, wala stocks sa mga suking dealers. Yun sana BT223, 3/4" - 16 thread, magpapalit naman ako ng filter head na mas mahal, M20 x 1.5 thread kasi ito nahingi ko filter head ng maisipan ko DIY ito.

madalas kasi yung mga hydraulic filters ay malalaki in sizes... to account for pressure differential kaya before wala ako makita sa kahit anung brand,
