February 24th, 2005 07:47 PM #1ever heard the lemon law na pinagaaralang isabatas ngayon?
napakinggan ko lang 'to sa BAHALA SI TULFO kaninang umaga. nagkaroon yata ng experience si sen. ralph recto about a lemon car kaya they are planning to pass a law regarding "lemon products".
sa tate kasi protected ang consumers ng lemon law kaya they can easily had a replacement for the lemon product that they got.

Masakit din yata yung malaman mo na sirain ang binigay sa yo especially when it impairs its use, risks your personal/family safety, and then ultimately- sharply decreases the value of the vehicle.

One of the 4x4wire forumers just had his wife's Lexus RX re-purchased by Lexus at full price (including tax, title, registration, etc.) because it was a lemon under SC law.
Maybe he should have just stayed with Mitsubishis in the first place. hehehe.

Senate panel summons Mitsubishi head over 'lemon' cars
A Senate panel has called on the president of Mitsubishi Motor Philippines Corp. (MMPC) in connection with its probe on defective cars allegedly sold by the company, abs-cbnNEWS.com learned Friday.
Aside from MMPC president Kengo Takase, also summoned to appear before the Senate committee on trade and commerce are officials of Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Inc. (Campi) and dealers Union Motor Corp. and Diamond Motor Corp. The next hearing is set next week.
The hearing was prompted after Alagad Rep. Rodante Marcoleta and anchorman Gene Orejana of ABS-CBN News Channel (ANC) complained about the defective Mitsubishi Pajeros that they have purchased, as well as the reported inability of regulators to help them.
“The Consumer Act provides that the consumer arbitration officer may summon witnesses, administer oaths, issue subpoenas, rule upon offers of proof and receive relevant evidence, cause deposition to be taken, regulate the course of the hearing, rule on any procedural request or similar matter and decide the complaint,” Sen. Mar Roxas, committee chairman, said.
He said the investigation will also determine if the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) has acted properly on the matter.
“The principal action resides in the DTI. So we have to find out in the next hearing what is keeping the agency from deciding the complaints,” Roxas, who served as DTI secretary before joining the Senate, said.
In the previous hearing, Roxas required automotive industry representatives present, including Toyota Motors Philippines Corp., Honda Cars Philippines Inc., and Ford Groups Philippines Inc., to submit reports on the complaints they received from their clients in the last three years and the action taken to address the complaints.
The Senate panel will also tackle problems encountered by buyers of brand new and used motor vehicles and discussed remedies to protect consumers’ rights against fraudulent warranties.

Its about time they do something about this. How about our fellow tsikoteer who complained about his lemon XUVi, maybe he can join them in filing a complaint while the car companies' still under scrutiny. Dapat isama diyan yung Isuzu, notorious yan dito sa tsikot diba?
Will wonders never cease with Motolite? Ha ha.
Cheaper brands than Motolite but reliable as well
