I tried doing 80kph from Manila to San Fernando one evening just to see how my FC on a car i was using would do. Did not even make it past the Bulacan area and i was already sleepy as hell. I tend to have a certain driving rhythm during long drives and driving below that makes me very sleepy or uneasy.
As i mentioned before on previous threads. I don't mind a speed limit, just make it something more acceptable, especially in the open, straight areas.

The speed limits set on NLEX, SCTEX, and even SLEX are archaic... possibly due (IMHO) to the fact that a great number of vehicles plying these roads are old, dilapidated, underpowered, and the fact that authorities are worried about trucks, buses and trailers rocketing down these straights at 120+ kph (which some buses still do anyways).
There is a very simple solution to that: ban the old, decrepit, dilapidated vehicles from entering these places, and strictly enforce a lane for trucks/buses/trailers - speed limited to 80 kph, no overtaking.

June 24th, 2011 10:30 AM #676Just a question, when they tag your car they both capture your speed plus take a picture of your car right? Then once you reach the toll both, they will then tell you that you were caught overspeeding. Tama ba?
During the evenings or in case of bad weather, can they still tag you or even capture the photo of your car?

At night, the camera is not sensitive enough to take a clear picture. So even if they can measure your speed with the radar, they can't tag you with a photo.
This is the same with the speed/radar gun used along Commonwealth. That is why they need a separate "tagging" team at night to pull over speeders.Last edited by ghosthunter; June 24th, 2011 at 12:16 PM.

June 24th, 2011 01:22 PM #680Bro calm down and I didn't say that I was planning or even dare to go beyond the speed limits. I was just asking if they strictly monitor excessive speeding during the evenings and during bad weather.
To be much clearer, I was in Subic last weekend. During Saturday when the weather was nicer, I noticed that they apprehended a lot of vehicles, but when I left for Manila on Sunday, I noticed that there was almost no caught violators.
The 12-month warranty on the factory battery ended a few days ago. SOH is still good at over 90%,...
Cheaper brands than Motolite but reliable as well
