last night my friend txt me to inform that the Mayor ordered that ubfhai open the Aguirre and Lopez gates respectively.
What could be the reason behind this? Wala namang announcement na inilabas o pag uusap akong nabalitaan for justification man lang sana. Haay naku!!!! Any comments mga bro..???

i remember BF homes during the 80s and it was such a nice, cozy, residential community
frankly, i just find it sad that this happened. they could have just limited the commercial area to the place where the supermarket was (is?)

....i'm a resident and this ain't good news to me. AFAIK, medyo matagal ng nagaaway ang mayor at yung UBFHAI president (celso reyes). i believe the mayor wants to fully commercialize BF homes.

Resident rin ako ng BF, this is bad news. But before nagkagulo na dito, nangharang nga ng 10 wheeler sa main gate dati eh.(I dont remember why).

August 27th, 2005 12:35 PM #7nung napanood ko si bernabe sa tv last week regarding this issue nga. sabi niya the public, kahit pwede nang dumaan ay bounded pa rin by the sticker policy of UBFHAI. Sa pagkaintindi ko, i think they will have a separate sticker that is only good on certain hours of the day. kung off-peak at papasok ka, di ka papayagan.

Grabe traffic talaga.

August 27th, 2005 01:43 PM #9mga once or twice lang ako nakadaan dyan, I think it would be selfish not to open the gates. I know hindi na magiging "tahimik" sa lugar ninyo (bilang residente) pero ganun din naman yun kahit sarado ung mga naturang gate. Often the LOCAL GOVT has the say on these matters - kasama yun sa Urban Planning changes ng bawat munisipyo.
Why not look into the brightside of things...(if there are any)...kasi kahit anong gawin niyong petition dyan....hindi rin yan maisasara forever.
just my 2 cents. peace.

I have been a BF resident all my life (not at the present though) and I for one am truly oppossed to the idea of opening up the gates. Kaya nga kami tumira sa gated community kasi we wanted peace & quiet, not to mention safety & security. So to open up the gates, even with this sticker thing, is a sure fire road to disaster. Kung gusto ng mga sasakyan makidaan, then kumuha sila ng non-resident sticker, as in the case of BF residents getting non-resident stickers from Alabang Hills for quicker access to ATC and thereabouts. There may be those who argue na mayayaman ang mga tao sa BF kaya they can afford that, but hey, convenience comes at a price. It's not served to you on a silver platter.
You can say that BF residents are being selfish, but before you comment, put yourself in our shoes. Wouldn't you be fighting for the same thing? Wouldn't you be riled up if they wanted to open up your 'home'? It's like the local government telling you to open up your garden because it's the fastest way to the other street. And take note, the local government is not the one paying for the upkeep of BF, UBFHAI does from the proceeds of sticker sales and other fees. Eminent domain my a$$.
I feel the same way. Not a fan.
