My VVTi is now 5 year old without any engine problem so far, the only thing that was replaced was the head cover gasket. Been now 3 years using LPG and so far no engine trouble and been getting 8-9km/liter LPG at P29.90/liter. Been doing 80Kms daily trip and had my ROI on the LPG kit in 10 months (SGI Kit cost P40K). LPG is a clean fuel, your engine oil is still clear and clean even you reached 5K Kms, in diesel as in my experience your oil would get very black even after change oil.

Normal price trends: Diesel is always P10-12 cheaper than gasoline and Auto LPG is always P10-12 cheaper than Diesel, in true sense LPG is always the cheapest in terms of fuel cost.

Why I choose VVTi-Manual when I decided to buy Innova 5 year back:

    - VVTi has chain drive so there's no need for replacement (related to engine life) against the D4d that you need to watch out for drive belt replacement.

    - VVti engine is cooler than D4d. D4d has hood insulator that suggest it is hotter. By law of physics heat is directly proportional to wear and tear.

    - VVTi is quiet and smooth, less juddering and clatter noise.

    - We have a lot of D4d-AT in the company and they can only do 7-8Km/liter city drive, almost Identical to VVTi-AT. even the present 2011 D4d-AT does 7-8km/liter
Makes sense.. on your company D4D's, different driving conditions, abused?

Btw only a ****star would enjoy the mega vibrations of the shifter. ;-)
Napacheck tuloy ako sa shifter ko. It's not bad for me. I can certainly live with the vibration. As you mentioned, on the second half of that d4d's current life, it was not casa maintained. Abused?

Natatakpan naman ng matting. A serious setback I could think of is hindi kakapit ng maayos yung spiked mattings. Delikado ito specially for the driver, also for children and elderly passengers kung dumudulas matting.

They are not abused because they are all employee's car plan and they are strictly casa maintained, in fact most of them have very low mileage kaya madali silang mabenta after 5th year term.

no offense meant on my post, it maybe the driving style and the usual route and street condition that varies. Years back (2005) the thread starter was Innova Boy and was no longer active in the succeeding new thread, also has the same sentiment on D4d FC. And recently I spoke to the owner of accessories store Van Hooksen (besides AutoBacs) in Banawe street who has D4d SportsRunner-AT and was also getting 7-8kms/li.

Likewise, some VVTI owners can only do 7-8kms while others like me can do 8-10km/li. Road condition and driving style and car condition will dictate FC, IMO.

Absolutely non-taken Mile2. We're having good discussion here. Yes, driving style has a major effect on FC. I tend to forget that every now and then.

ako i can do only 6-7km/l on our innova j vvti. FC only improves if I do long drives without traffic. Otherwise, no matter how smooth i drive, my average FC is around 6.5km. But i guess i'm used to it already. I wont settle for any other ride nor a diesel variant.

I'm getting at least 10km/liter on my route to the office. very light traffic, some heavy traffic only for a short stretch. FC is heavily dependent on route, if your route includes heavy traffic for a long stretch then do not expect a good FC even if you're light footed.
