I had my A/C system vacuumed and recharge with a new freon surprisingly this is the first time I saw they weighted the freon before and after charging it. The shop told me it is more accurate this way on charging freon.

Next up on my list for PMS:

Currently 56k odo, 8 years old.

    This month (December 2023):
    1. Change oil and oil filter
    2. Change fuel filter (Diesel)
    3. Change air filter
    4. Change cabin filter
    5. Drive shaft / U-joint greasing

    After 6 months (June 2024) - approx. 60k odo
    1. Change oil and oil filter
    2. Coolant flush
    3. A/C cleaning
    4. Interior detail

Should I preemptively replace the engine and transmission mounts?

    Anything else I might've missed?

when i had my 2005 innova's aircon (over 120K km on the odometer) cleaned,
upon opening, i saw that it didn't need any cleaning at all.
    it was so clean!
    something to think about.

engine and transmission mounts are so long-lived, in my view,
i would replace them only if they already show signs of wear, and not before.
i haven't changed mine yet, since new.

Out of curiosity, I called up Toyota to ask if they can do an underchassis inspection, bolt-tightening, and apply lubrication where needed. I was thinking that the U-joints on the driveshaft requires a specific type of grease (not axle grease) and I would've thought that the dealer would be more thorough on these type of things.

But I was surprised that they don't even apply lubrication to the universal joints. They say that they only inspect it and replace when worn out.

Sanity-check lang.... do these U-joints require the re-application of lubrication or not?

if there are no nipples for injecting grease into, casa probably won't re-lubricate them. they will only replace them.
if one wants them lubricated, have the outside mekaniko do them.

yespo. no issues on the engine mounts or manibela vibrations.

a complaint, however, is the harder steering feel. i am wondering, will replacing the PS fluid re-soften the manibela?

Yeah but, short of crawling under the car to see for myself, do the previous-gen Innova have those grease fittings on the U-joints?

There are Youtube videos showing how the driveshafts on the Innova are lubricated and it's clear that the fittings are there. The U-joints require lithium-molybdenum grease or NLGI grade 2 grease. I would've thought that Toyota would be using the correct lubricant so that's why I asked them about it. Imagine my surprise when the SA told me they don't put lubrication during PMS for any underchassis components.

I also found an excerpt online of the Innova maintenance schedule. It says to lubricate/grease the driveshaft every 10k Km.
