Filipinos would rather get the boring stuff even if they get short-changed.

    if i may,
toyota are like jollibee or macdonald's.
they flock there, not because it's michelin 5 stars, but because the product is predictably acceptable and no surprises.

More like they don't know what they are missing out on.

    you know the old saying,
"if they don't know what they're missing out on, they're satisfied." or, "treat them like mushrooms."

    kahit ako.
    i didn't know push-start or touch lock-and-unlock or literal finger-touch power steering.
now i can't get enough of it.

This. With reliability and resale value being the 'be-all, end-all' in their tiresome argument...

... but what's wrong with that? let us not criticize them because their value systems differ from others' .
they're practicing the triangle of cost-reliability-performance.

That's proven fact naman and they're among the main reasons why I bought a Toyota.... 2nd Toyota for that matter.

Good track record, hardly breaks down, but when it does, I know it's not going to cost me as much as the other car brands.

You just have to accept that different people have different priorities. Not everyone goes for shiny, aesthetically pleasing cars with a lot of knick knacks. Let the kids play around with them.... been there, done that.

It just so happens that my priorities lined up with what Toyota has on offer.

No you got me wrong. I respect your choice for wanting something practical and proven for long-term use.

I was just referring to some random folks who act like a 'karen' once they see other people and their car/s then act negatively if they're not toyotas, as some of them also try to put those opinions down their throats when it comes to choice of cars they have.

I also believe any car, as long as it's not plagued with reliability issues, can last longer if taken care of meticulously.

the problem i see mostly with Toyota loyalist who arn't car lovers is that they don't know what they are missing.
they are surprised by the tech cars have now a days.
Thou most of them would still spend more for reliability than tech.

Don't believe their saying that bringing in the more loaded units would mean higher price that no one would buy.
if the dealers regulate their greed then their toyota units can definitely run toe to toe with most of the tech present in modern cars now.

iba yung actually inu-uwi sa bahay..
    heh heh.
I have two people in another group chat who bought theirs already.
Planning to meet up one of these days to get a good try of the car.
