JLG,
Syempre thats a Marketing statement parekoy.
Nakita mo yung Fortuner sa parking? I was less impressed now than when I first saw it. Parang lumiit sa paningin ko.
Again, this SUV is surely worth the money.... a thoroughly modern one. Kaya lang features-wise, mas loaded pa rin ang Gen2.5 Pajero.
I know this sounds crazy, but for me, getting a Fortuner from where Im at is actually a downgrade.
(rationalizing lang kasi walang pambili hehehehe)

i (with carlocaraddict) inspected a Kia Sorento LX turbodiesel automatic at kia quezon ave., and my impression is that i'd sooner buy a fortuner 3.0 4x4 than a sorento. the fortuner absolutely whups the sorento in space, comfort, interior, quality, and to a more arguable degree, styling.
i can say with a reasonable degree of confidence that the fortuner 3.0 turbodiesel is the best pick in the non-luxury class midsize segment (this class includes the everest 4x4, sorento, and montero sport). at least, if i were in this market, i'd get in line for the fortuner. the handling and steering are on the sloppy side and the price is higher than the sorento's, but it's simply a better package overall compared to the sorento, montero sport, and everest 4x4.
according to the Toyota quezon ave salesman, a turbodiesel 4x2 fortuner is expected in September 2005. no manual transmissions planned at this time.

May 19th, 2005 06:26 PM #117My friend bought a 4x4 diesel this afternoon, We test drive it, its fast for a diesel, althought i didnt aggressively overtake other cars, Its not my car (better be careful). We have it side by side with the gas 4x2, all engines running, You hardly hear a thing if the gas is running, no steering wheel vibration for the gas version when idle. Diesel has lots of torque but noisy.
Both cars are great! Get out and buy one now.

Hmmm.... comment lang on toyota autoboxes:
though I havent had any time behind the wheel of a fortuner, judging from my wheeltime behind a RAV4 A/T, it should be a blast! The shift points are really suited to my driving style! Ewan ko lang how the ECT is programmed for the fortuner.
Av8tor, sanay mga pwet natin sa leather hehehe. I'll wait till toyota releases a TRD or J (kung wala pa) version of this baby with leather seats, adjustable suspension, true landmeters, and REAR DISC BRAKES............... and funds of course hehehe.
