August 25th, 2009 12:33 AM #512The car was bought there at TPT. We're in Laguna, and bringing it there will be quite a hassle since pila pila ang nag papaservice don.

August 25th, 2009 12:48 AM #515I see. I probably can D-I-Y.. What's your altis' FC? I recently reset the car's FC reading, the car (1.6G MT) did 12.3km/l on its first 10,000kms mixed drivinga and ocassional hataw (150km/h slex). Now in its first hundred kms, 12.5km/l pure city driving.

August 25th, 2009 12:53 AM #516the civic's marketing strategy of its 1.8 liter engine that consumes a gas like a 1.6 liter engine is all hype.
dual vvti engines are better than the previous vvti (newer technology for better performance)

In terms of power, kamusta yung powerband ng 3ZR-FE ng 2.0V? maganda ba yung low-end pull nito? and kamusta naman sa highway overtaking/rektahan?

August 25th, 2009 05:13 PM #518Dual VVTI should lessen fuel consumption, but don't expect the gas numbers to be comparable to lower displacement engines.
Looking at the engine specs alone:
Civic 1.8 R18 engine and the 2.0 3ZR-FE engine will produce similar horsepower, but the 2.0 will have slightly higher torque.
I'd expect performance to be the same.
A Civic 2.0 K20Z will probably give marginally better performance compared to the 3ZR engine - higher horsepower, same torque. (Although baka hindi rin mapansin yung difference)
In deciding between a Civic and an Altis (both very good cars), I think it would come down to this:
Civic = Sporty
Altis = Comfort/Luxury
You can't go wrong with either if you pick the car that matches your taste.
