Unlike in the case of the Montero Sport wherein the 2.5L engine bested the 3.2L engine, hence killing off the 3.2L, Toyota's 2.5L VNT is still the less powerful sibling.

The 2.5 D4-D with VNT, altough having just 144hp instead of 163hp, having the same 343Nm of torque of the 3.0L D4-D, doesn't feel weak into the Hilux and the Fortuner.

Unlike what most people say, I dont find the 102hp on the hilux underpowered since it gave me 10-12km.litre of fuel consumption unloaded and 7-8 km/litre when I loaded it with 600 kg of cement bags.

But, Oh why oh why you only came now sana noon pa, gusto ko rin 144hp

Same here with the 102hp of the Fortuner. Oddly though, I find the matic more peppy than the manual Fort. Dunno with the Hilux though.
