Im planning to buy a 2nd hand Toyota Crown, budget is just more or less 200k so perhaps model 1992-1994 will do. I always wanted this car but i dont know much anything about it.
I hope you can give me some info on this such as:
    Pros/Cons
    Are parts easy to find?
    Are parts expensive?
What should i look out for? Engine, Suspension, Aircon?
I think there is a V4 and a V6, which particular models are these?
Or if there is a local website link on this, pls post nalang para i can review.
Btw, another choice for me is the 95-96 Corona but i want to check the Crown first.

    thank you.

Parts are easy enough to find. You won't have a problem with maintenance. At this age some minor trim parts (e.g. switches, moulding) may be difficult to find so don't break 'em. hehehe

Sorry no idea on engine size. All I know is they were inline configuration (not V). Inline 6 or inline 4, that I can't tell.

The Crown looks boring but it rides like a luxury car. Not sure if that model year has rear a/c and rear audio controls already.

The 1989-1992 Toyota Crown has two variants, the Deluxe (the 22R 2.2 liter inline 4 8 valve carb engine) and the Super Saloon (the 5M-GE 2.8 liter inline 6 24 Valve EFI engine). The Super Saloon can be easily identified by its longer bumpers, the grille mounted yellow foglights and the factory installed mudguards.

The 1993-1996 Crown, mwanwhile, has only one variant released in the Philippines, the 2.0 Super Saloon. It has a 2.0 liter inline 6 EFi engine. The other variant, the more expensive and powerful Royal Saloon, has a 3.0 liter engine.

You can find a 1993 up 2.0 SuperSaloon for less than 200K. Parts are available bu i doubt it'll be as easy or as cheap as Corona/Accord/Cefiro as it's not as popular. If you want something rare then a 3.0L Royal Saloon is a nice model to look for.

If i were in your place i may look more for a Corona given the budget constraints, unless a really nice Crown in good condition falls in sight.

maybe you can find hard to find parts for this variant in HK, hehehe. All taxis in HK are crown though their engine is powered by LPG.

Saw a 3.0 Royal Saloon last Tuesday. Modifications were a two way radio and a burly bodyguard. hehehe.

I'd like to think of Crowns as 'understated luxury'.

as far as i know guys, this car is a frightful gas guzzler specially the 3.0 variant. another one is the dashboard look so 80's.

    correct me if im wrong...

But with the luxury of space, and the softness of ride compared to the other cars and the most important is you have enough dough for the gas,
then i think this is a nice car to keep...

My Dad had one before, an 86'model, bought it from a Chinese businessman, I used to play with that car with bumps. The faster you run over humps, the smoother the ride. It has rear audio controls, everything is powered, very cool AC(1hp Nippondenso compressor), cup holders, head rests, extra smooth spring mounted seats, high capacity trunk space. Passengers could sleep soundly on long drives. The suspension seems to maintain hold even if you stuff seven people in it (i didn't tell him i did that hehehe...). Why he got rid of it? He opted for a smaller sedan, it's a GAS guzzler... also genuine parts are too expensive... difficult to park due to the size. But overall, i give it a thumbs up.

Crown is a fantastic vehicle spacious interior and Camry siya noon kasi luxury car engine parts are no problem but alam mo naman ung mga design dati mahilig sila sa chrome so chrome trimmings have the tendency to fall apart upon time but ung mga 90's na model ay may AC vent sa likod which makes it very comfortable
