Depends on the route. But in traffic, yes.
No need to turn OD off unless you want to overtake. You can fiddle with the ECT switch (if your car is a later generation Corolla with the ECT) to see if it gives you better economy, but in ECON mode, it's kinda sluggish.

Keep OD on.
Pag mabilis na tapos gusto mong mag down shift from 4th to 3rd, you can turn OD off.
If you need acceleration. Turn On ECT. else keep it off.
Pag naka ON ang ECT, at a higher RPM mag shift up ang transmission. higher revs = more power but more fuel used.

Generally speaking, overdrive (OD) is the highest gear in the transmission. Overdrive allows the engine to operate at a lower rpm for a given road speed. This allows the vehicle to achieve better fuel efficiency, and often quieter operation on the highway. When it is switched on, an automatic transmission can shift into overdrive mode after a certain speed is reached (usually 70+ km/h depending on the load). When it is off, the automatic transmission shifting is limited to the lower gears. For an automatic transmission, it is almost always best to select overdrive and allow the transmission to control engagement of the overdrive. (It may be necessary to switch it off if the vehicle is being operated in a mountainous area or when towing a trailer.) With a manual transmission, overdrive should usually be selected when the average speed is above 70 km/h.

On cars without this OD switch like mine (D, D3, D2), the D it our overdrive. D3 and D2 in effect is the overdrive in off state.

Depends on what part of Kennon. On the steeper inclines, 1st or 2nd is a good precaution so you don't cook your brakes. I was rear-ended there once by a Civic with a newbie driver. He didn't preserve his brakes on the way down, and when we came to a stop at a landslide, he ran into me from over 100 feet away.
