perhaps, the manufacturer thought, "mabili ang vios? sige... taasan natin nang kaunti... to make up for the relatively poorer-selling altis...".

    gets?
Wrong. Those two longitudinal rails together with cross members are the hallmarks of a ladder frame or body on frame chassis. Monocoque frames do not typically have a contiguous rail running from the front all the way to the back. You are saying that the Rush is not "body on frame" simply because it does not have a traditional body bolted on a frame like PPVs do. But for all intents and purposes, if you bothered to even look at the Avanza's or Rush's complete frame and not just the part of where you took a picture of, you can clearly see that the body design is indeed ladder frame. Bolted on or not does not really matter. Even the part you pictured already shows the undercarriage parts attached to the longitudinal rails and cross members. That should have been a dead giveaway of what it really is. It's a monocoque implementation of essentially a truck/pickup body. That's needed because the platform is intended to be an economic people carrier with a small engine and not a full blown SUV.

I think the term "hybrid" is rather apt.

    monocoque.
    ladder on frame.
    bolt-onto chassis.
    hybrid.

    the typical customer doesn't care.
what he wants to see, is the creature comfort that the insides offer, and how much faster the car is at the stoplight races, compared to the other racers on the road.
other interests include ground clearance, and engine type (diesel, gas, anong mas matipid).
but body type or chassis? nah...
    heh heh.

    my opinion.

I’m assuming he likes it. Doesn’t seem to be complaining, but doesn’t seem to praise it either. He does not seem enthusiastic about it, parang point A to point B car lang ata talaga. Then again its his first time owning a car, nothing to compare it to.

Hmmm...imho none of the issues he raised are major dealbreakers (except the ergonomic concern regarding the pedal offset). But people are built in different shapes and sizes. So it might not be as uncomfortable for others. Average height iirc ng pinoy male is 5'4". For females 4'11". So yung concern sa headroom baka di ganun kasignificant for most. Other foreign reviews mentioned generous headroom...sa topgear i remember paulo subido nagkasya sa 3rd row albeit tumatama na ulo sa headliner. But he is a little less than 6ft. Most pinoys arent that tall...and headroom is better in the forst 2 rows. Yung ingress problem is an effect of the ride height. A stepboard would easily solve this problem. Yung matigas na suspension? Come on. Target market nito di naman rolls royce ang daily driver. Surely this is a step up from trikes and jeepneys kung tagtag lang paguusapan. Yung eye level niya na yung mga naka fortuner at innova...is this really a negative? Glacial? Di ba on par lang 0-100 nito sa mga diesel na ppv (at least the older models). Anyway gapang naman traffic sa metro manila. Yung fuel consumption is it significantly lower than conparable vehicles in comparable conditions? Di naman ata. Handling? This will most probably be a family car (hindi solely for porma o status). I doubt buyers would be too concerned about lap times.

On the other hand it offers a lot on its price point compared to competitors of the things that actually matter. Ride height. Durability (wala tatalo sa solid rear axle kung patibayan lang ng drive train). Engine's got timing chain. 4at slushbox matibay din vs cvts. Safety...arguably it's got the best package.

In his own words, 'getting all the features that’ll make an entry-level German luxury car green with envy.' Pero unfortunately kulang pa rin...

So as with everything, take this and all the other reviews with a grain of salt. This is a utility vehicle. Apparently it is leaning more on the utility end vs the sport end in the design compromise...so to expect (and dismiss a vehicle) based on metrics it wasn't intended for doesn't make sense to me. It's ridiculous to judge a fish on how fast it can climb a tree....

I think what the carguide author was saying basically is that there are better options for the same type of car with the same purpose, 7 seater, 1.5L engine, high ground clearance car. He didn’t mention any choices but I’m guessing its probably the BRV or Xpander.

Indeed there are always better options (depending on your priorities). I just wish the review was more objective...
