We checked it out the on Bonifacio day, put down a reservation the next day, paid in cash a day after.

Nice car. No nonsense. Easy to drive. Light steering. Small turning circle. Front seats are firm and very comfortable. Ample rear seat legroom (I'm 5'9"). 2ZR 1.8 engine is peppier but has better gas consumption than my 1.6 Altis 11th gen. ZR engines are also ubiquitous in Corollas for a decade so spare parts will not be a problem. Cold aircon. Wired-only Apple CarPlay. Had the casa replace the puny single horn with a Bosch Europa pair, and install 3M medium mirror tint.

    Happy :-)

btw ilan inches yung screen? the pdf brochure doesn't indicate the size...

Report: Toyota Corolla Cross facelift to debut in ASEAN Q1 2024 | TopGear PH

All powertrain options are expected to be carried over from before. That means there’s the 1.8-liter gas engine, and the 1.8-liter hybrid. However, the report boldly claims that the 2.0-liter hybrid will come to Southeast Asia.

If dyan mismo sa may louvre ilagay, parang delikado since yung part na yan is parang design for the airflow.
Pero parang nasa front din siya ng radiator so I might be wrong if dadaanan yan ng airflow.
Medyo wierd lang yung design, walang compartment specifically to place front plate.

Just got our GR-S back in November 4 (just did the first 1k PMS). Waiting time in our case was only 1 week since paying the reservation. Looks like there are a lot of GR-S units in stock since the Yaris Cross came out.

So far really enjoying this. Had the chance to squeeze the throttle more now that the first 1k PMS is done and was pleasantly surprised by the amount of power it had. I was honestly expecting it to be slower or closer to my CR-V S variant but the GR-S feels livelier on acceleration.

The suspension on this feels pretty planted for such a high vehicle. Even if the suspension is GR tuned, it isn't harsh at all and rides beautifully even on bad roads.

One thing I do not like in this version of the GR-S is the new head unit. It does not come with any vehicle integration at all. You can no longer see the battery/engine status on the head unit. There is no vehicle settings you can change on the head unit. The reverse camera only has static guide lines now. The plus side on the head unit is it now has wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay, and the screen is really responsive. However, I feel that if you do not use either Android Auto or Apple Carplay, the head unit is pretty much as functional as standard non-touch screen units (just a normal radio).

The wireless charger sometimes works, but often times quits working later on on the drive. My phone (Pixel 7 Pro) feels hot after using this wireless charger. My guess is my phone's camera hump is preventing good conduction between the charger and phone. In the end, it barely charges the phone while running Android Auto. At worst it maintains the charge and at best, it charges maybe 1-3 percent after a 30 minute drive. I will probably still use a cable to charge my phone because of this.

That's a bummer. However, can you still view the hybrid status (energy monitor) in the multi information display?

Pretty good! On my usual city drive (around Meralco Avenue, Mandaluyong and San Juan) my average based off the liters loaded on a full tank vs my trip meter is around 14 KM/L. For comparison, my 2011 Jazz (1.5L) averages 6.5 KM/L, 7 if I am really trying to save fuel that week and my 2018 Honda CRV S variant (1.6L Diesel) does 10 KM/L.

On the highway, I average around 25 KM/L though I've seen it do 28 KM/L once. The Jazz likewise does 13-15KM/L and the CRV does around 19-22KM/L.

I generally don't put too much effort into saving fuel so if I probably drive in a much more economical fashion, I'd get more out of all the above vehicles.

Yes, it is still there at least. I do like to switch between this and the trip consumption though so ideally I would have had 1 screen for each. But now I just switch between via the steering wheel controls.

I wonder why the hybrid has less torque than the full gasoline version. I know that the presence of the electric motor should already give the car high torque.

P.S. my mistake, 140Nm is the internal combustion engine alone. Combined torque is quite high at 207 Nm. Not bad

Yeah the hybrid has pretty good torque provided you have good charge. When you have good charge, the engine and the electric motor work in tandem more often in my experience.
