The Rush and the current soon-to-be-replaced Avanza its based on are RWD but as far as I can remember both use a unibody/ monocoque construction.
No visible separate ladder chassis (Avanza photo), and you can see the Strut towers of the MacPherson strut front suspension (Rush, bottom photo).

European version of the Corolla Cross Hybrid.
Instead of a 1.8-liter engine, the upgraded Corolla Cross Hybrid now comes with a 2.0-liter Dynamic Force engine that makes 152 PS and 190 Nm of torque alone. Together with an electric motor now powered by a lithium-ion battery, Toyota claims the total system output of the Corolla Cross Hybrid is now rated at 197 PS. Compared to the 1.8 Hybrid we currently have, the new powertrain makes an additional 75 PS.

Real-world test: How fuel-efficient is the Toyota Corolla Cross 1.8 G CVT? | TopGear PH
The trip meter read 234.9km at the station, which meant we got 8.98km/L from the Corolla Cross’ 1.8-liter gasoline engine. The on-board meter, however, was a bit off, as it read 9.52km/L (10.5L/100km) at the end of the test.
