August 12th, 2006 08:49 PM #1Hi there guys! Im a newbie here and i desperately need some information and advices regarding the 1997-1999 toyota prado models (DIESEL) because im planning to buy one in October...
Info's regarding its features, advantages and disadvantages would be nice and also its fuel consumption rates would be great.
also, how many kilometers does a typical diesel engine go before it dies and what does the VX, VR mean?

Here's most of the info you'll need: http://brian894x4.com/LC90.html
VX, VR are trim levels. Local Prados came in only one trim level - almost bare.
What I don't like about it is the low clearance under the fuel tank, other than that it's a good rig.

old school toyota na wala masyadong electrical gadgets... Pero matibay to kasi kasama to sa mga 90s toyota SUVs na sobrang tibay sabi nga nila they are "over-engineered" to perfection.

December 10th, 2006 01:18 PM #4I 100% agree with you. I own a 1997 LC Prado 2.7 GX. It never gave me any major problems and has been my reliable companion ever since. I'm planning to use this car for many more years.
There aren't a lot of gadgets that you find in newer models but it is a very reliable car.
