Innova has the same platform as the Hilux and Fortuner, too expensive if they make it FWD

Avanza and Rush use the same platform, "almost" same engine as the Vios. It really makes sense for the Avanza (and later the Rush) to be FWD with CVT.

Currently it shares its chassis with the trucks, only if Toyota decides to move the Innova to a TNGA Corolla/Altis Platform.

It doesnt seem to make sense for the innova though to switch to fwd with diesel engines being developed only for their BoF commercial vehicles.

our neighbors have the Prius V and the Sienta (based on the B platform)

How many Innova's do you think will sell locally if it had a 1.8L petrol engine with CVT?

avanza and rush should be FWD... too small body that cabin space is compromised..

the innova is big enough for the RWD setup.. baka maging parang mini alphard na yan if FWD

Possibly much weaker sales if Toyota made the switch. I hope they will not do that in the future.

Diesel option is a largest selling point of the Innova. That's why TMP axed the 2.0L gas engine.

And Innova will the last of the breed of rear wheel driven MPVs when the all new Avanza/Xenia comes out.

asked a car manufacturer why it is shifting to CVT,
    he answered,
"because that is what the buying public wants".

The Innova's 2GD-FTV cleared India's BSIV (similar to Euro 6) which is good news for us.

I'm sure we'll see a diesel Innova until its next version.

    i am not sure...
i have been using AT for years now. i do not see why i should be enamored away from it by the cvt.
there is this small thought behind my mind of reliability issues of cvt on heavier vehicles..
