July 16th, 2023 04:19 PM #41Mas Ok ang Gen2 by form. Itong Gen4 konting refinement lang, I guess same EPS steering feel of Gen3 B100. Mas matigas ang steering ng Daihatsu sa Toyota(compared sa Vios). Mas insulated lang ito sa lower gen but the same Daihatsu feel inside na manipis-compared sa brio na mas refined i drive(though wlang pushstart at backing cam).

July 16th, 2023 04:53 PM #42I don't think longer ang wheelbase from what I saw at the dealer.
They just slapped on a slightly longer, larger body onto the old chassis.
The ride will be the same.
My thoughts:
Power steering... on such small vehicles? Boy, drivers nowadays are so spoiled!
Yung point ng power steering is to assist steering with heavy, large vehicles with big tires (i.e. trucks, pickups, SUV's etc.) Putting these things on sedans & tiny cars like this are nice of course, but its one other thing to break later on...

July 16th, 2023 08:24 PM #46the three-cylinderness is a given.
but what about the versatility of the driver's positioning?
the heaviness of the steering wheel,
the smoothness of the suspension and its ability to absorb road imperfections,
the ease of ingress and egress of driver and passenger,
the seating comfort,
etc.
they are both mini cars, but how does one fare against the other?
methinks it's time to test-fit-and-drive these two...

July 16th, 2023 09:44 PM #48Comfortable seats at suspension ng Mirage.
May height adjust at mas upright driving position.

July 16th, 2023 10:31 PM #49direct to the point.
much appreciated, po.
btw,
how's the build quality of the mirage nowadays?
the first versions seemed to be iffy...
"ok na ba" ?
and what about the celerio?
very few comments about it.
an acquaintance, however, says his brother has one and has had no issues with it thru the years.

July 17th, 2023 02:02 AM #50I have both the Wigo(3rd Gen B100) and 2nd Gen Brio. I prefer the smoothness of 4cylinder and build quality of Honda.
The Daihatsu NVH is not as refined due to 3Cylinder and less insulation, the AC is weak-di kaya sabayan sa tirik na araw during summer/not as cold as the Honda. I seldom use them for long drives - more on pang hatid sundo, grocery, solo drive. For highways, Vtec kick n yo is much pleasurable to drive. Both are perfect all arounder errand car for city and short trips. Better FC goes to Wigo but not as much.
I cannot comment on Mirage since it was long been discontinued. Celerio was overpriced but i suspect it rides like the Wigo. Korean hatch was also discontinued. No Chinese, bad for Ph sovereignty
Otoh, the 2nd gen mu-x slightly looks like a mazda up front and some interior bits as well but oto...
