Iba talaga hauling ability ng Hilu at Ranger based on what I see here in our province. Yung Strada kais is bought mostly by businessmen not really carrying heavy loads. Mas comfy kasi at maporma tignan based on their personal opinion kaya yun daw binili nila.
Pero in reality, nasa driver na yan on how to maximize his ride. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=quS0mm2hT1s&feature=related]HILUX vs L200 - YouTube[/ame]Fasten your seatbelt! Or else...Driven To Thrill!

I agree to you sir=) iba sa actual driving. I love fortuner and monty but when it comes to reliabilty of engine and parts supply, the jurassic 4d56 engine will win. The engine was proven already(since 1980's pajero's/l200/l300) compare to d4d of toyota. Before mitsu engines used bosch made fuel injection pump(crdi) and nozzle while toyota used denso (crdi) (denso copy the technology and concept of bosch). If u notice the first model of imv series (2005 fortuner/innova/hilux) experienced stalling problems. The culprit is the fuel injection, fuel filter, egr and scv because of the poor fuel quality in our country. Peace=)

PCOTY is only open to all new models, but I'd like to try to request a Ranger for this, because I would like to know how it compares.

This is NOT drag-racing we’re talking about here boss, BUT rather “speed at engine-rpm”.... At kahit saan along the rev range, maganda ang gear ratios ng 3.0-litre Fortuner D4-D at mas mabilis cruising speed nito at any-one along the rpm range kaysa Monty GTV.... However, your Monty GTV could be revving much freely than the 3.0-litre D4-D engine that's why sa kuwento-kuwentuhan mo sir mabilis ito sa drag-racing. This only means that the required time for the Monty GTV to go through its powerband could be faster than the relatively slower-revving 3.0-litre D4-D.
The "speed at rpm" shown here is a different thing and it applies more to daily routines than drag-stripping. If you have responsive low-end and better gearing like that of the 3.0 Toyota D4-D that means your engine needs only low revs to go faster and accomplish task, therefore saving more on fuel since it doesn't rev as much....
....Simple lang naman yan sir, nakukuha ang speed at any rpm base sa rpm ng makina, gearing, at tire dimension at hindi sir sa kung saan-saan man, lalo na sa kuwentong pa-bida sa drag-racing :D ....As an example, ganito lang halos yan sir, say at 2000 rpm....
2.5 Mitsu Monterosport GTV auto-tranny, 101.6 kph at 2000 rpm
3.0 Toyota Fortuner D4-D auto-tranny, 110.7 kph at 2000 rpm

I am currently observing the 2SM battery installed on my MU-X, Yuasa brand. Kaka 1 yr lang nito...
Cheaper brands than Motolite but reliable as well
