first time ko sumakay ng pnr last week from sta mesa to alabang. grabe sobra sikip pero sa presyong 15 pesos, di ka na din aangal.
kung mahina mga braso, hita at katawan mo siguradong madudurog ka lalo na pag natapat ka by the door.

SleepEx test train has reached Naga City KM 377.77 at 10:43 PM. Travel time can still be significantly reduced by tamping the line.

March 10th, 2011 10:27 AM #388Nice to hear about the progress of the new PNR!!
A few questions though:
What's the gauge of our rails?? Is it narrow gauge or US gauge?? Are the engines from the US or Japan?? What's the exact name of the engines??
I'm a beginner model train hobbyist (HO Scale) and I plan to buy an unmarked train engine to be adorned with PNR livery...

*Docgorio: PNR uses narrow gauge Sir. Engines are made by General Electric, Diesel-Electric Locomotive. The 900 series (shown in the video) are known by their formal name as U15C and U14C (depends on the locomotive number).
You may want to visit forum.rihspi.org for more details about our railways.
*baludoy: Yes, there was a changing of the guard at PNR. P.Noy appointed Jun Ragragio as the new PNR GM. The new GM is into arts, heritage, history, and co-owner (with Conrad de Quiroz, Joey Ayala, Gary Granada, etc.) of the famous Conspiracy Bar along Visayas Ave., QC.

Another news: PNR has already released an Invitation to Bid for the transport of 80 coaches from the JR East Megayard to Manila, to be used in the upcoming Commuter Service expansion to Calamba and Bicol Commuter Train (BCT).
