October 11th, 2009 02:37 PM #1Guys,
I made a review of the all new Suzuki Swift. You may read it if you like and ask me questions here about other stuff that you may need to know about this great car.
Happy Reading.

nice review
love the uncluttered dash and interior of the swift and a nice exterior that ages well. 6 sec to 100 kmh?

I seriously doubt the claims of the 0-100kph time of 6 seconds.
The time should be more in the 10 seconds for a Swift 1.5L A/T carrying just the driver.
Just to compare...
Suzuki Swift Sport (1.6L) data:

If you stick to your "claims", it would mean your 100hp A/T Swift is much much faster than the sport model with 23hp more from the engine.Last edited by ghosthunter; October 12th, 2009 at 10:05 AM.

6 sec 0-100kmh? That doesn't sound right, that would make it faster than than a Mini Cooper S which has 172hp/237NM and has a curb weight of 1200kg and the Volvo C30 227hp/319NM and weight 1450kg. According to the Suzuki website the Swift has 110hp/143NM with a curb weight of 1030. Even with the weight differrence the other two has so much more torque available at a much lower RPM than the Swift. Torque is what you need to accelarate a car not horsepower and the Swift doesn't have enough to move it that fast with 3 people on board. Even the Mazdaspeed 3 with 263hp/379NM that weights 25kg more than the C30 would only be .2 sec faster than the Swift.
On another note the rear of the Swift looks like a Nissan Versa.

Baka naman yung 1.6 liter Swift Sport yan...Yung M/T 1.5 liter variant ng Swift eh ok naman ang performance nya!

In the blog, it was clearly mentioned they drove the Swift 1.5L A/T version.
Kindly READ the article before adding pointless stuff to the thread.
Also, even if it was a 1.5L M/T, with only 100hp, you cannot get it to accelerate 0-100kph in six seconds. It would probably do 8 to 9 seconds with a M/T.Last edited by ghosthunter; October 12th, 2009 at 12:26 PM.

Typically, a 1.5 liter AT subcompact will do 0-60 km/h in 5-6 seconds. To get to 100 km/h in 6 seconds flat from a stop, with an automatic transmission on a car like that will take about... 200-250 horsepower, give or take.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

October 12th, 2009 10:48 PM #9Quote from the blog
"We tested the car's sprinting ability and the car was able to manage an impressive 6 second run to a 100kph with 3 passengers including the driver on board."
BS!!

Could also be due to the high demand that the manufacturer prioritized new car deliveries vs. spare...
