one saturday i went to my dealer, suzuki auto shaw for a 5k check-up. they did the oil change and installed new oil filter. syempre since medyo nababagot ako sa work nila, i talked to the new returned service manager ng suzuki auto shaw.

what he told me was that the wife, who was driving the said possessed apv, didn't actually encountered that problem. kaya sinabi ng wife nya yun is because she was afraid of her husband about telling him the truth, that it was the wife at fault. she didn't stepped on the brakes. what she actually did was that she pressed accidentally the gas pedal, causing the said problem. luckily she raised the parking brake before the hit the gate....tapos ang mas masaklap pa dyan was that she didn't know how to drive an a/t!

peace to everyone. we are also on the verge of finding the truth, for one lie may destroy everything, even the reputation of a humble company.

    Hi Suzuki APV owners!

Sorry it has been ages since i accessed my account and was not able to update you guys.

sir j-six, are you referring to Dan Montes, the new service manager of suzuki shaw? well, he's a good friend of my cousin.

anyway, before i give you guys the end result of my complaint, allow me to correct some data mentioned by sir j-six.

firstly, my wife was not afraid to tell me. my relationship with my wife was never based on fear and the incident really happened my freaked out kids and maids were the eye witnesses...............
secondly, my wife is an experienced driver, almost 10 years and we have an isuzu hi lander xtreme M/T, a starex A/T ,and an Isuzu Trooper A/T and she regularly drives all of them. so sanay sya to drive big and automatic cars. when the suzuki investigators went to the house, they asked my wife to re-position and re enact the event ( using their APV) and without them saying it , am sure they were trying to check whether my wife can drive or not.

    Here is the story......

After series of legal meetings between our company's lawyers and a battery of suzuki lawyers and technical experts, both parties agreed that the tranny will be opened up by a third party. Suzuki wants toyota and our company wants a Class A shop or another CASA basta hindi toyota, primarily because we learned that the service manager then ( mr alcantara) used to be the service manager of the toyota branch that they wanted to do the examination. this was when the deadlock happened. nobody wanted to budge.

so we went on a step further, the legal way. Our company started asking for the findings of suzuki japan because their claim was that per their "investigation" nothing is wrong or could possibly go wrong with their kind of tranny. But they refused to give us a copy of their official findings. Bakit kaya? all we wanted was an official, written, and documented findings from them but they refused to do so. what is there to hide?

At this point, my APV was already un moved from its original position for about 2 months already. ( imagine seeing my branch new car accumulating dirt and rendered useless). Remember also that this is a leased car from my company so i am still paying my monthly contribution without really using the car.

Both their lawyer and ours are obviously doing the tried and tested " delaying tactics" and in the middle of it all is me and my APV,bottomline, ako ang most affected.

I consulted my personal lawyers and they gave me a realistic time line for cases like this. it would take at least 3years the minimum for it to be settled at the RTC level. wow! by that time, bulok na APV ko at di ko pa napakinabangan! syempre di pwedeng galawin kasi under litigation yung unit e.

i had a man to man talk with the reps of suzuki head office and suzuki shaw dealership. but this time, no more lawyers. they agreed to fix and "inspect" everything ( damages, scratches etc. ) at no cost to me. and shall do a thorough check of the tranny and other related parts. It was a personal guarantee from mr. alcantara. it turned out that if we leave the lawyers out of the discussions, things can be ironed out amicably. i left the car with them for about 2-3 weeks. they returned it to me like brand new. i asked what they did but they did not want to tell me the details or even give me a copy of the inspection/ service report. they gave me an extended warranty and pretty much satisfied all my request. they even offered to replace my side mirror but it never happened though. before they released the unit from the shaw casa a suzuki rep asked me to sign a quit claim but i refused. also few days after i got my APV, mr. alcantara left and transferred to Rapide.......all cell numbers of all suzuki reps were also unattended na.........dan montes of shaw was mum about it............

it has been more than 2.5 years na yata since it happened. the farthest that i brought my apv was in baguio ( with my whole family)since it happened and so far so good. nasa 25k kilometers na ang mileage.

i fairness to suzuki, generaly ok naman sila. it was just during the initial stages that so much irritation was felt by both parties. But to be honest with all of you guys, i am still wondering until now why they never gave me a copy of the findings, and service record ( when they serviced it ). They also were able to block my posting in an international owners of APV. website( i posted the same story). I don't know how they were able to block it but when i checked it, wala na yung thread ko and blocked pati username ko.

well, all is well that ends well.............. still hoping though that i get a copy of their report and my APV's service record..........

one consistent problem though, the APV is really a guzzler!

    good luck mga padre!

It's good to hear that kahit papano you are now able to enjoy your APV with your family. I own an AT APV and it serves my family well. In fact lagi kmeng nasa Baguio.

Going back to that incident, eto nangyari na sa akin... when I started the engine of our Corrolla, pag start pa lang ang taas ng rev nya e di ko naman inaapakan... tapos nalaman ko after almost a minute naipit pala yung matting sa gas pedal kaya parang naka apak sa pedal kay mataas ang rev.

Adding more... this is not an isolated incident kse the same thing happened to my Boss' Honda Civic AT VTEC in the late '90s. Di rin na figure out ng Honda. So to single out the APV and Suzuki is not fair.

I'm an APV owner as well (A/T). I have mine for more than 4 years now, and i never had this kind of problem. As a matter of fact, I never had any problem whatsover aside from the battery running dead almost 2 years from purchase date, and suzuki changed it w/ brand new. 'said it's under warranty. Great!
I use the van everyday. Good value for money all purpose vehicle.

matagal na nasagot ito ulitin ko lang. suzuki and the insurance anti fraud investigated this, their finding was that the automatic transmission was set on the reverse instead of the drive mode and the wife who was driving admitted to her mistake and even replied na natakot siya sa asawa niya kaya yun ang ginawang story.

in old type automatic walang nakalagay sa dashboard kung naka drive or reverse or park pero sa apv automatic meron indicator light kaya dapat kung di ka sanay sa automatic always check your dash indicator light kung nasa drive ba or reverse mas hirap pa nga ako sa automatic na montero kasi masyadong dim yung lcd indicator but habit ko na tingnan yung dashboard but the good thing is pag nagrereverse ka sa montero may beep sound agad same with our fiesta automatic sa apv walang beep sound kasi... bakit kaya di nila nilagay? or sira lang ata yung beep sound ng nabili namin.
