A hypothesis(anyone can, of course, dispute)...Fluid starvation was the initial irreversible blow. By using the car further after the said repair, say even w/ proper fluid & level, I can't help but imagine the crumbling parts & ground bits doing further internal damage. Worse on wrong fluid. The Shell rescue was a Hail Mary.

I also do think fluid starvation is what doomed the transmission since the CVT fluid provides the friction for the belt to bite and ATF doesn't do that causing slipping, overheating and eventual breakage of the belt.Using ATF probably just accelerated its demise and even if shell did market(they dont according to their electronic catalogue) and put suzuki-approved CVT fluid in the car it would probably develop the same symptoms anyway
(Shell seems to be their oem for cvt fluid atleast for the Swift 1.2/SX-4 with the thailand owner's manual calling out for either Shell Green 1V or Suzuki Green 1 Fluid i'd wager that their Spirax S5 CVT X or CVTF S-Green-2 would be at least compatible if not the same product as Suzuki's Green 2 fluid(which suspiciously sounds like the latter))

December 4th, 2019 12:00 AM #96i agree.
nasugatan na nung minanejo nang kalahating kilometrong walang proper lubrication...
nothing could have stayed the completion of the mission.
sorry na lang yung "last touch", dahil siya ang sisisihin.
but i wonder,
wala bang warning light yang kotseng yan, to warn of low fluid levels?

You can extend the breather hose up and secure at the firewall and gooseneck it. Just as long as...
