Dang! It’s even lighter than the Mirage by 100 kgs.

UPDATE: CONFIRMED THE ENGINE IS NOT DUAL JET. After further research and inspection of the engine bay it only has 4 FUEL injectors. The rest of the ENGINE though is the same as the dual jet with the same compression ratio of 11:1, aluminum alloy block, timing chain not belt etc.

Suzuki K12M Dual Jet , 23 km/L, 83 PS, 108 nm torque (probably tuned down to meet the ECO PHASE2 regulations of Thailand and the lack of additional cooling which DUAL INJECTION requires)
    Suzuki K12M Non Dual Jet, 21 km/L, 83 PS, 113 nm torque

The new Swift power to weight ratio albeit only having a 1.2L(113nm, 850KG) is similar to Honda City 1.5L(145nm, 1107KG) at around 130nm.

City driving 11.5-12 km/L and still climbing, I saw a guy on the Swift Club FB page posted 13.3 kmpl city driving on his new swift.
Crawling traffic for about an hour 10 km/L, which marami na rin kami sa Angeles City T_T.
Haven't tested it sa Expressway but they say its 21-23 kmpl.

I believe the new swift has now the same FC of the current mirage but with more POWER. Both cars is around 850KG, same 1.2L, same JATCO CVT7.
    Similar FC with the Ciaz.

I just hit 13 km/l City driving on my new Swift CVT , mostly driving it to work which is a 8 km trip. For now 500 pesos muna ang pakarga once a week.

What I don't like is the measly 37L fuel tank capacity, but then again it has a very low FC.

    hi. new member here.

im pondering on the new swift gl mt. basically, i can pull the trigger on the celerio anytime but i really like the swift's handling. if i go for it, budget will be a bit tight, but not short.

reading reviews, the swift gl mt is fuel efficient even in traffic. my only concern now is, aside from insurance and gas prices, is the pms. how much does it cost to maintain?

    thank you

Howdy! I am a newbie too. I just want to share some friendly advice since I have sat in both and tested the Swift. I wanted to test the Celerio but the problem is it's always out when I visit the dealer. Since you are considering the MT Swift, then MT Celerio is probably better for a couple of reasons. First, space inside is not much of a difference between them. Second, you will be safe within your budget. Lastly, the sound of the Celerio engine/ exhaust when you really drive it hard, sounds like some exotic car hehehe. Check out the Autotrader south africa review of the MT Celerio, the guy testing it found the sound quite cool too.

I have never owned a Suzuki before so I can't speak about parts and maintenance, but after checking out online reviews and the actual cars here I can say that I am leaning towards getting one because I am impressed.

I've driven the GLX Swift and the Celerio CVT and honestly, the Celerio feels like a real budget option. Steering is very much weighty compared to the Swift, and the Swift's handling is just unbeatable. The real difference really is the price because if maintenance is cheap, on top of the amortization, gas, insurance, etc. then the Swift will be on the top of my list

Hoping more people give their inputs hehe

Saw the new Swift on display at SM North. I like the looks, inside and out. Seats are huggy and sporty. What lets it down is the small engine. The engine bay has so much empty space, you can use it as extra luggage space.

    More space for customization :D

The chassis is lighter, so despite the smaller engine it's just as playful as the previous version.

are you uncomfortable with the smallness of the engine, or with the big-ness of the bay?
as long as it accelerates decent enough, and goes up the ramp fine, then that's ok with me.
    heh heh.
