September 22nd, 2018 03:33 PM #1Hi all bakit kaya naging ganito both front tires ko? 15k mileage. Rear tires are ok naman. Okay naman stability sa highway and straight line naman ang takbo. Though di pa na rotate ever so pina rotate ko na Lang. Tire is continental and 2015 date of manufacture.

Looks like dry rot.
Replace them, whether they can still be claimed through warranty or even if you have to shell out the cash.
Worse if you can peel off the rubber using just your hands. They’re no good and an accident waiting to happen.
Are they inflated properly?

Parang ganyan ung front tires ko dati, achilles atr sport. Although heavy user din ako. I just changed all 4 tires to neutons. Never had that problem again.

September 23rd, 2018 11:23 AM #9I have seen this fairly often with Contis, Michelins and Hankooks even when they were fairly new and with low mileage. If you don't drive hard (i.e track or very rough surfaces) then your case looks like a bad batch to me.
But generally, this phenomenon is called chunking/pitting and is either caused by: 1) hard driving; or 2) a tire compound or batch defect.
