I recommend you using NISSIN brand made in Japan brake pads as they are OEM supplier of brake parts to HONDA but if you compare prices vs HONDA Genuine brake pads vs. NISSIN brake pads of course it is cheaper by a ton. You can buy this pads from Kab Automize in Pasig and 20th Century Valenzuela.

After 6.5 years and 115400 kms later, I decided to replace the front brake pads of our Vios. Was surprised that the old pads still had a bit of decent brake material (thickness) on them. But I'm beginning to feel the depth of travel on the brake pedal.

So in goes a set of Bendix CF brake pads. OK naman ..

Bendix - 850/set
OE Toyota - 4500/set

Your Vios is A/T right? 115,000kms for the first set of pads? Do you even brake?

I usually reach around 50,000 to 60,000 kms on my set.

I was quite amazed myself on the "longevity" of the orig pads. Is Akebono, OE for Toyota?

Hence my initial plan to buy OE, but was off-put by the prohibitive price.

That's CASA price? In Banawe OE should be around 2K to 3K siguro.

We use Bendix General CTs on the Vios and they get the job done.

Heck, family vehicles that are driver driven burn through brake pads in less than 30,000kms.

Nope, that was either Gant or Toyosco price (Pasay), can't remember which.

Sorry never heard of any Nihon brake ever. I think this is some brand that is using a Japanese name but not a Japanese brand, if it is a yellow & red combination box packaging then sorry to say this is an Indonesian low quality brake pads that uses Japan in Japanese as "Nihon" as its brand.

Yes Akebono is OE to Toyota, as well as other major manufacturers.

The difference between Genuine Toyota brakes and Bendix is that the Toyota one doesn't eat thru your rotors as fast as Bendix, while retaining good braking performance. Also genuine Toyota isn't noisy like Bendix. Also genuine last longer than Bendix replacement pads but if of course it goes down to the driver's way of driving if todo tapak sa gas then malakas din tapak sa brakes then of course kahit anong well known brand pa gamitin mo mauubos at mauubos kagad ang brake pads.

The only con of genuine parts are they are as expensive as hell.

Sir what about G Brake? Ive seen some and being offered by some auto supply and shell service centers.
