To everyone else, read the whole paragraph re the octane rating in your manual. Our Fozzie's manual says something about above 90RON. check it out.
haj, my impreza's manual says minimum 95 RON.

Maybe you're right, it has something to do with the specs to what continent/country it is made for. Im not familiar with Asia and Euro. I know my STI dude.

I read somewhere in C! Magazine that car engines in warmer climes require higher octanes. I can't find their article online, but there was a pretty comprehensive discussion on octane ratings.

Hello. I'm new to this forum and a new owner of a Subaru 2.0r Sport. I've had problems with my impreza having only put 300kms so far. Such a disappointment. Need to know if I'm the only one experiencing this problem.
    1. Mirror on the windshield is loose which might fall over time. Probably a simple tightening of the fixture from the CASA would do the trick. Though this is minor, its simply just annoying.

    2. Moving on a flat surface, there's a tendency for the car to move to the left when I let go of the steering wheel. The car moves towards the left (slight movement) as well when I brake....This is just another simple wheel alignment job but for f's sake, I've only had the car for 2 weeks with 300+kms clocked in. Really annoying!

    3. Here's the most annoying part. The problem happens when I make a full stop whether from a short or long drive from one point to another (for example, just to stop for a stoplight by applying the brakes without putting the car into Neutral), when I release the brakes a slight jerk happens. I think it has to do with the transmission shifting back to first gear. Could be a delay in gear shift....or could be something wrong with brakes?

I am no expert mechanic but I do have comparable reason having driven AT cars from a lancer, accord, explorer, pajero, and now a santa fe (which shouldn't be comparable since Subaru's are deemed a class higher) and been driving A/T cars mostly all my life.

Hope you guys can shed some light what's wrong with this car especially for point 3.

    Thanks in advance

    1) Go to the casa and tell them about it. None of our Subbies have that.
    2) Yep. That could just be alignment. Motor Image should be able to fix that.
    3) You can check if MI can fix that, but that's with the transmission. Our 04 Forester is really bad with that, but our Legacy has almost none of that. Could be an isolate case... just have 'em check it.

Like dpo_kenneth said, subaruclub.ph is the best place to go :D

Had the same jerky transmission before. I asked MI about it and they said it was the intelligent transmission that was still adjusting to my driving style. I guess with just 300KM, you subbie is just doing the same.

However a quick solution that I still use now is to just leave it in SPORT mode. This made the transmission more responsive and virtually eliminated the jerky move. Hope this helps.

Vince, I've logged on 9k on my 2.0R. Here are my observations:

    1. Have no problems whatsoever with this.

    2. I thought that this was a problem with my car, too, although I've noticed this on most cars that I drive (especially more apparent if there's no passenger). The reasons are likely because I'm a big guy (190 lbs, 6'), or the uneven grade of the roads here in the Philippines.

    3. The slight shifting jerk also happens with my car; not all the time though. I've observed that it happens more often when I don't step on the gas immediately after taking my foot off the brake pedal. Could you please observe yours if this is also the case?
