Dear tsikot,
I am choosing between a suzuki grand vitara 2.7 v6 (can't find one for sale though) and a forester. Now i found a number of forester 2009-2013 gen4 in olx. Please educate me.
1. 2009-2012 Forester xt 2.5 turbo, is the local version 170 hp or 224 hp?
2. I saw a 2011 Forester xt 2.0 turbo advertised. Does this animal really exist? Because as per wiki the 2.0 xt turbo only came out in 2014, with the same engine as the brz and tuned to 253 ps. Or the seller does not know what he is selling (2nd hand dealer).
3. Are all local 2009-2013 2.0 models naturally aspirated? If turboed what is the hp?
4. I will be using it as coding and farm car. The road to my farm has about 6km of rough road. Can the suspension be lifted even by 1-1/2 inches?
5. Any known issues for the 2009-2013 gen 4?
Thanks in advance for your replies.
Hangang dito na lang po tita.
Lubos na gumagalang,
Yebo

1. Local SH FXT (3rd gen, 2008-2012) had 230 hp mated to a 4AT.
2. All local SH FXT came with the 2.5L EJ25 engine. Only the SJ FXT (2013-present) comes with a 2.0 FA20 engine (240 hp).
3. Yes, all 2.0 SH Foresters are NA with 150 hp.
4. The Forester has a 225 mm ground clearance, at par with all PPVs. Also has a smarter AWD system than all other car-based crossovers. Try it out first before lifting - I dunno how bad the roads are to your farm but if it's just gravel and loose dirt, the stock FXT should be able to handle it.

December 27th, 2018 07:14 AM #3153Mandaluyong area only. Nope, I haven’t had a battery change yet. I’m apprehensive about going to the casa which are relatively near in BGC or Pasig simply because of the cost. But they’re the safest option but possibly the most expensive.
For all I know it could either just be a loose hose lang sana kasi....

4. Subie stock ground clearance is good enough to allow the Forester and XV to reach Pinatubo. Motor Image once sponsored a fun run thru the path going towards Pinatubo with a convoy of Foresters and XVs.
5. One common complaint among Subies is the front lower arm bushings which usually needs replacement every 30k km. The SH and SJ Foresters uses the same bushings for its suspension parts. One key concern that most owners watch out for is the aircon system - some had their evaporators changed within the first 5 years of ownership.

Best to get the face lifted model (2011-2012) ... The difference is the grill, instrument cluster, aircon controls ... Ask Fusion R or Mark Bata regarding lifting of Subarus ... All Subaru Forester variants have gasoline engines ...

Oil change lang kelangan mo. In Motor Image, you have the option to use the Motul oil (600 per liter) or the Shell oil (400 per liter). You can also bring your own oil (just follow the specs on the manual) but Motor Image charges 50 pesos per liter corkage fee.
Kung yun lang 1250 singil sa iyo, then oks na oks yan. Libre then yung oil at oil filter mo.
I am currently observing the 2SM battery installed on my MU-X, Yuasa brand. Kaka 1 yr lang nito...
Cheaper brands than Motolite but reliable as well
