I need your opinions. Sobrang mainit ba talaga yung engine bay area after driving? I usually drive for an hour at a time pero I noticed after parking na the heat radiates from the engine. Feel ko lang masyadong mainit. Minsan, pag umuulan nagmimist pa small part ng windshield near the engine bay. Any thoughts on this? Engine coolant level is normal and radiators were replaced last year. (2010 Subaru forester NA)

when idling and ac off... is the radiator fan going on for a half a minute then off again(until it reaches a temp) then on again. it cycles...

your symptom is of a not properly bled coolant... air pockets perhaps..

This sounds right -- when last time na flush/napalitan coolant? Nag-eexpire din kasi ito, and kapag ganyan imbis na liquid most of the time nag-papalit na yan from vapor to liquid -- then eventualy parang tubig nalang sya hindi na effective yuh eth. or prop. glycol, unti unti na yan mauubos/sisingaw.

Thanks Sirs Don900 and StockEngine. Will check these when I get home. I'll also have it checked at Fusion R since my brakes and spark plugs are due for replacement na rin.

If your used to cars with 2.0L engines or bigger, maintenance cost would be about the same. CVTF and gear oil change every 40k km actual mileage.

Fuel requirement is 95RON to 98RON due to its turbo engine. Blaze 100RON can be used but not recommended as fuel-air mixture might come out too rich.

Be sure to check the AC system carefully. If it wasn't properly maintained, it usually is the first to have problems.

Maintenance costs are roughly the same as other CUVs.
