I just noticed this ( 60,000 kms vs. 100,000 kms industry standard) and I find it quite unusual when every other brands (maybe except the Chinese) are offering at least 100,000 kms warranty coverage.
I know some would argue that nobody actually reaches 100,000 kms in three years (save for taxis whose warranties are void anyway).
Just curious why Motor Image would mandate such glaring limitation. Could it be reliability issues or non confidence in the products ?
Who knows.

March 20th, 2014 10:18 AM #3Any reason why you deduced reliability issues or non confidence? Are you having troubles with your unit sir?
Still waiting for sir Flip to update us what happened with his case though.

March 20th, 2014 02:20 PM #4My hunch is to lower unit costs? Could be that there's a certain budget set aside for warranty claims, so if you lower the warranty coverage, you potentially lower the unit cost.
I just thought of this because their units are coming from Japan but are quite competitive in terms of pricing. But that's just me. Hehe.

April 24th, 2014 03:32 PM #5Related to this, can anyone give me Subaru's warranty on transmission? We have a 2010 Subaru Legacy and nasira ang transmission nya so sabi sa casa kailangan na daw palitan yung transmission. Quoted price is P600,000+. Nasa 75,000kms ang tinakbo ng sasakyan but I find it hard to believe na ganun kabilis masisira ang transmission. Hindi nangyayari yan sa Toyota namin. May batas ba tayo dito sa Pilipinas against manufacturers selling lemons? Your thoughts please.

^ I don't think you can claim warranty (unless its a widely documented defective worldwide) since you have already exceeded both their warranty period as well as the mileage range.

average per year is 10-12k kms. taxis naman kasi maghapon ang biyahe compared to private na pasok sa umaga, uwi sa hapon, some in betweens and occasional night outs, long drives, etc.
i have a friend who goes to work in makatiand goes home to bulacan 5 days a week but he doesn't reach more than 16k km. a year

Not just the engine. It's literally a D-Max with Mazda styling, but everything mechanical is Isuzu....
