I'm planning to buy a 2nd hand forester xt maybe march or april. The best one listed is a 2010 model with 68kkm on the odo. I see 2012/13 but they are the 2.0 model.
Ask ko lang, how is the parts availability outside of the casa? Are there shops that can service other than casa.? Most important, do these shops have a obd2 reader that is fully compatible with subaru vehicles, with the diagnostic codes as well?
Kasi pag No ang answer on any of the 3 above i'll need to consider some other brand.

Your best bet would be to ask with the people from Subaru Club Philippines. (SCP)

There are aftermarket shops that cater to Subaru vehicles. Owners of previous gen Foresters have kept theirs in good running shape by going to such shops. The Forester SH and SJ share common suspension parts but they differ in engine and tranny; 2.5L turbo paired with 4AT (SH) versus 2.0L turbo paired with CVT (SJ).

Puro 2009-2010 nakikita ko na xt at around 400-550k depending on mileage. Yung low mileage ones from 2nd hand dealers, natatamper ba ang electronic odo ng subaru? Although they do say na may complete and verifiable casa records. For the 2011-2012 2.0 prices start at 600k upwards, and many of them have even higher odo readings than the 2009 xt models. I'm guessing because the 2.0's were daily driven and the xt's were weekend/coding cars.Last edited by yebo; February 23rd, 2019 at 05:06 PM.

Fluid color and smell
Uneven wearing on tires
AC cooling (notorious for leaks particularly in the evaporator)
Rough idling

Don't think about other brands anymore, just go with Amaron. It lasts minimum 5 yrs+ parati, I just...
Cheaper brands than Motolite but reliable as well
