We now know why Subaru partnered with Toyota. They don't know shyt about hybrids.

They should have continued the XT model instead of that hybrid.

Well noone was buying their XTs. Less than 5% of Forester sales were turbo.

It's the same as those clamoring for manuals but don't buy.

Variants are introduced/axed from sales figures, not from social media fame.

Well, there will still be buyers. Globally, it’s around 15% for the XT, 5% for the manual, and 5% for the diesel model for the SJ platform. Most Foresters in the global market uses the bigger 2.5L NA engine.

No guarantees that the eBoxer will do well in sales but it is Subaru’s commitment to helping in lowering emissions.

No choice. EU has set mandatory emission reduction targets for new cars. For 2021, each carmaker is allowed a maximum fleet average of 95g of CO2/km....a limit Suzuki couldn't meet. The Jimny, their fat lamb sacrificed.

Where'd you get the 15% global number?

The US, which is Subaru's biggest market, has the turbo at 5%. Less than 10% in Australia. All of Europe's sales for a year is less than 1 month's worth of sales in the US. PH was relatively high at 30% but our weighted impact to the global average is so small.

A niche variant (FXT) for a niche brand (Subaru) is already too small to make economic sense. Which is why Fozzy decided to go maintstream and all-out family car with the new one since that's the biggest market for it.

If they lose 30% sales in the Philippines but gain an additional 10% in the US, that's a super good deal for them.

Less than 10% only in the US pala. Read somewhere that it was 1 out of 7. Maybe 1 out of 7 refers to XT, manual, and diesel.

People longing for a new XT, they can buy instead the new Outback XT.
