i just checked out the ravenol website but it's not clear to me if it's conventional coolant, or OAT

btw there's no internationally agreed upon color coding on coolants so it's all abrbitrary best to be color blind when choosing coolants

    Yes.

Gone are the days you can tell the composition of the coolant by its colour. You should not let colour be the only basis for choosing the anti-freeze mixture you want to use. Check out the description on side of the container the coolant comes from. We have said it a million times and we’ll say it again; read the label!

Ang problem nga lang is (sadyang?) vague ang labels ng ibang manufacturers minsan...

Toyota Pink (OAT & premixed) & Toyota Red (IAT & needs dilution) are probably similar to Suzuki Blue Super Long Life (premixed) & Suzuki Green (needs dilution).

Toyota says their "Pink" and "Red" are compatible, but I don't recommend mixing though--> na mention ko lang to set at ease those who accidentally topped (ie. small amount) up their "Pink" w/ "Red" or vice versa and mag panic flushing & replacement. Ma dilute nga lang effectivity nung "Pink".

Any other comments on the Ravenol HJC FL22 confusion here? Is it IAT or OAT? Nakabili na ko ng 2 x 5L bottles.

Latter, meaning you use type 2 for Honda cars, pink for Toyota cars, and blue for Suzuki cars?

Another thing, how do I know if my car's windshield wipers need replacement already? If they do, which brand and model should I be looking for?

If you're getting streaks or skipping when it wipes then it probably needs replacing.

Also just visually inspect the wipers. You can see if the rubber is starting to tear or disintegrate so if it looks like this then maybe replace already even if it's still wiping well. Wouldn't want to suddenly have the blade peel off and scrape your windshield with the bare wiper frame.

That's what I thought. It was weird though that when my car was new (less than a month), there was streaking after I had my windshield coated with ceramic. I wasn't sure if it was the wiper blade or coating issue, to be honest.

If it worked for that one guy maybe it's fine. Personally I wouldn't use it but it's your car. Sabi nga nila "My car, my rules" 😂

Lol, yeah. Egan101 is very particular with his cars though so he knows this stuff. And based from the articles that were posted here, you should not base your decision on coolant colors. Not saying you're wrong or anything.

True. Worst that could happen is mixing different coolants that have varying properties would gel up causing the engine to overheat. Minor stuff.

I changed my coolant right before I hit 60k km on the odometer. Wala naman issues and never ako nag overheat after over 12k km of use.

I also used Ravenol HJC FL22 on our ASX. Same thing - no issues whatsoever.
