This gen XV already has timing chains.

And yes there should be minimal corrosion if the proper coolant is used.

correct sir.. this is what i noticed eh.. i was expecting nga na yung inlet and outlet will have corrosion or yung parang magaspang na sa loob and some residue formation sa water hoses at 200k kms.. yan kasi usually nakikita ko dun sa poorly maintained 2nd hand kia van namin dati and dun sa assembled auv namin..

eh since that toyota altis is using the toyota specific coolant, it served its purpose of having a healthy cooling system

so based on my observation, if that XV used the proper coolant, no need na siguro to replace the water pump and thermostat..

for peace of mind na lang, i recommend flush and fill na lang.. wag na gamitan nung cooling system cleaner na for me not necessary to use.

even for my oil change, i do not use "flushing".. if i want to flush, i use fresh oil instead.

I had the coolant replaced on the XT last year. I used Ravenol HJC.

I didn’t replace the thermostat though. GAT Performance didn’t tell me to change it.

    1) My car is in Fusion R now and I feel stupid because they saw that the Zic 5W-30 I bought was for a diesel engine. I didn't realize that the 5W-30 is different for gasoline and diesel engines. I told them that I will just have to buy the correct Zic engine oil first and just have a nearer auto service shop change the oil for me, as that is easier than the other oil changes. Or can I do it myself?

    2) They told me that I already need the change the air filter but I can do that in my own time. The air filter costs P1800 from them. Is there a cheaper source locally for original Subaru air filters?

They also told me that the throttle body needs cleaning. It costs P1800 too and I had them go for it as it seems majo

Another thing they saw is that both big and small arm bushings have "malaking punit" already and they recommended to change them already. They said if I don't change them, I risk having the bushings fall down and will hear more "kalampag". Their quotes are:

    Arm bushing big - 3200
    Arm bushing small - 2100
    Press out bushing - 1200
    Labor - 1500

Is this arm bushing really major that I need to have the parts replaced ASAP? If yes, that's fine, but I was hoping to source better-priced original parts and just have Fusion R do the labor for me.

    5) They do not clean brake systems. They only clean brake pads. They seem to not know what "cleaning a brake system" is. I asked MI and they told that when they clean the brakes, they clean the whole system.

    6) They also told me that the brake fluids are still clean so I can opt not to have them change fluids yet, even though I was bringing a Prestone brake fluid. I said "ok". Not sure if it was the right decision?

im am not sure if your subaru is picky with its oil. pero most of the time lalo na in the past sakop ng specs ng diesel oil ang requirements ng gasoline engine. nakasulat yan usually sa jug ng langis sa likod. however it is best nga to double check as with more modern cars they be sensitive to the type of oil with dpf, catalytic converters, and what not.

sa casa as i understand it "cleaning" is opening, inspecting the brakes, brake cleaner, liha or brush, adjust if necessary, brake squeal paste. brake fluid flushing is another seperate item altogether not included sa "cleaning". im not sure if cleaning the whole system as they said includes a brake flush.

Yeah, I don't know if I want to risk that though. I have the option for a refund from the seller naman and then I'll just buy the correct one. More hassle nga lang but that's a lesson learned for me. Now I know that 5W-30 diesel is not the same as 5W-30 gasoline.

Yeah. It's probably too advanced for Fusion R and is not a usual offered service from them.

it happens bro. in that respect kasi yung jug ng diesel ng zic is too similar to the gasoline counterpart. same with shell na blue hx7. pareho yung lalagyan nakalagay lang in inconspicous letters diesel or gasoline. all too easy to miss the print.

0w20 FS is the suggested viscosity for the FB20 engine. 5w30 FS is the alternative.

I would suggest Amsoil OE 0w20. You can get them at Lazada.
