August 20th, 2017 12:21 AM #12Yes, I have a picture of the 2018 Subaru XV already and it does look like chrome door handles are used this time around.
Ayaw ko lang yung sunshine orange. Mas gusto ko ng tangerine orange, hehe. It's nice to know this is on the top of your lost as I can say the same on mine. Para kasing ang konti lang nagrerecommend ng XV dito sa tsikot. Feature-wise I think mas marami ang 2018 XV compared to its competitors.

August 20th, 2017 09:11 AM #13Hehe you're going for the orange? you'll definitely stand out :D
If we do decide to get this, it's probably going to be the cool grey khaki or silver lang, opposite end tayo pagdating sa color hehe
Wala nga masyado nagrerecommend ng XV, probably because of the following:
1. Price almost overlaps with the base model forester and even the new gas version CRV tapos cargo room is smaller.
2. Small engine for the price kasi lagi icocompare sa PPV, hindi pa diesel
3. Brand reputation - tingin ng mga tao more expensive ang vehicles and maintenance ng Subaru. Even me, I am a bit worried about the cost of long term maintenance specially ng AWD, I don't really need it but it's good to have hehe
4. Alanganin ang size/price. Kumbaga parang hindi practical as a family vehicle and a bit too expensive for a younger person naman.
What I like about it:
1. Class leading safety features (which a lot of people locally don't even consider)
2. Ground clearance - class leading I think
3. AWD - in times of needI will only be using this car for recreation, errands etc...
4. The new platform and modern interior - plan on keeping this vehicle for a while
5. Expecting it to retain its relative uniqueness in our local market, for the reasons sa first part mentioned above
I do think lamang siya sa iba feature wise dn, I believe siya lang ang may sunroof? Very capable AWD too, although didn't really look closely at other cars in its class kasi ang tinitingnan ko na isa pa is the Mazda CX-5 FWD Pro hehe

August 20th, 2017 04:01 PM #14No, I don't like the Sunshine Orange
If it was the Tangerine Orange, I can still think about it. Regardless though, I think it would be harder to sell a 2nd hand Orange vehicle when it's time to let it go.
1) I really can't stand how bland the Forester looks like. Is the cargo room of the 2018 XV really that small? I read that they made it bigger already, right?
2) But the engine is adequate for its form factor (CUV), right?
3) I totally agree with the cost of maintenance of Subarus. This would be my first car purchase and I'm not really a car enthusiast so I still need a lot to learn.
4) I can consider myself a "younger person" and yes the price is kinda steep.
And I also agree with the thinga that you like. Technology in the inside is very important for me. Kulang lang talaga ng Eyesight. If it had Eyesight, sobrang wala na talaga akong titignan na iba, lol.
I checked CX5 too pero ayaw ko yung internal niya, sobrang bland din. Pero the external looks beautiful. Many people also recommend me to go with the Civic pero ang daming features ang wala niya compared sa XV kaya I'm still having second thoughts although pogi talaga siya

August 20th, 2017 04:52 PM #15Agree on resale value of Orange or any loud colored vehicles for that matter hehe
Yes bland nga yun design ng forester na at this point pero malaki talaga yun cargo area niya compared sa XV kasi boxy, not sure exactly sa bagong XV pero yun current version maliit talaga.
if they drop the price of the XT by quite a bit its last model year though, I wouldn't hesitate to grab one if I could

Civic looks nice and spacious... pero mababa so didn't really consider it, if you're not very concern with ground clearance though you should probably check it out.

August 20th, 2017 05:14 PM #17it looks like a raised station wagon. the black trims at wheels wells are dead giveaway. parang mobilio na ginawang bRv with just those black trims to project a higher ground clearance. and the roof rack, pang 1 decade ago pa, iba na ang roofrack ngaun, even the MUX or Ecosport has a better looking roofrack, yun walang space in between. easier to clean at hindi dirt magnet.

August 20th, 2017 05:32 PM #18Cargo lang ba yung maliit sa XV talaga?
Exactly, sobrang attractive ng Yojin 3, hehe.
I'll go to Mazda and check the CX-5 then. 2018 din yung CX5 na bago? How about when it comes to features, can it compete with the XV?
I'm kinda partial about ground clearance although parang I'm gearing towards XV din. Mas maganda lang din para sakin yung internal looks ng Civic.
That's good to know!

August 20th, 2017 05:45 PM #19As far as reviews goes, maluwag yun front legroom ng XV, shorter ng I think 2 inches or so yun second row compared to the forester but still relatively spacious compared to others. Sa cargo space and headroom ang medyo malaki ang difference nila ng forester. The important bit for me is the front legroom since 90% of the time dalawa lang naman kami sasakay haha so okay na sa akin.
Technically 2017 yun CX-5 pero ang konti lang ata ng dumating na units dito, if you read the CX-5 thread, may nagsabi doon na 2018 models na daw yun next batch of units na dadating. If you get the AWD I think similar sila feature wise with side airbags and all, better NVH ang CX-5 dn pero lahat to puro sa reviews lang hehe
However, it's quite a stretch for me to go for the AWD already at 1.8M++, bandang 1.5M lang max sana. I'll wait after the dust settles muna and will try to test drive both of these (both new XV and CX-5 wala pa units for test drive ata), won't be deciding pa naman until sometime early/mid next year.

August 20th, 2017 05:56 PM #20Hi sirs good afternoon, newbie here
i was just a spectator here before in tsikot.com(nakikichismis lang hehe). was checking for any thread about the new XVs and this thread came up, planning on acquiring the new XV myself.
Price range daw is from 1.4-1.6M (entry-premium level), and yes tama po kayo eyesight feature is not included in the Philippine version of XVs. For the compartment size same pa din ata with the previous models, mas wider lang yung opening ng 2018 models kasi yung previous models may contour pa which makes it look na masikip, not unlike yung new models widely open na.
in my opinion, the pinakamalakas na puwersa requirement, is in the manibela. driving...
