which one is better. for general purpose home use (disinfecting, tangal pasma etc)
im spcifically pointing to J&J Isoprpyl 70% vs Green cross Ethyl 70%.
initial impression is green cross ethyl alcohol is a bit cheaper to comparable isopropyl alcohol across all brands.

imho.
ang isoprophyl eh may halong water, the reason why the concentration is lower (may 40%, may 70%, etc...)
ang ethyl is pure alcohol. parang denatured alcohol or gin. hehehe.
for your question, since general use lang naman, i think isoprophyl is better, dahil less matapang. i think, if i am not mistaken, isoprophyls also contain ehtyls + h20 + other compounds.
sino ba chemist dito? hehehe. paki confirm naman itong idea ko kung totoo.

well, alcohol is alcohol. used excessively and it will still dry out your skin (that's the only drawback AFAIK of alcohols) regardless if it's ethyl or isopropyl.
for me, I just use it for my finger, palms and feet. nakaka dry kasi yan ng skin.
(haha... halatang vain).

parehas po na 70% ang hospital grade ethyl and isoprophyl alcohols. pareho may halong water yan. yung 40% isoprophyl alcohol is not hospital grade, that is only massage parlor grade ehehehehehe!
for my family we use only ethyl alcohol. less harsh since it does not dry the skin like isoprophyl alcohol does. also if our kids get sick and we give them sponge baths (warm water with alcohol) they prefer the ethyl alcohol as it smells better and the vapor does not sting the eyes.

thanks, trying out 2 bottles of green cross ethly alcohol as its priced lower than isopropyl. it seems it does have other advantages even though it might really be based on one's own preferences like smell or skin sensitivity.
thanks again.
