Dati yung magic sugar na sodium cyclanate - bawal according to fda dahil nakaka kanser daw. Ngayon di na bawal. Paano nangyari yun??

yung mga studies kasi na gawa lalo na ng mga supposedly independent bodies (e.g., those taking masters and doctorate courses and they need funding for their thesis) slaves yan to whoever funds their research. so 1 day this group from harvard will be saying one thing then another day another group from even the same university will be saying another. pera pera din lang yan.

Companies lobby very hard in U.S. and Europe to have their chemicals approved for use in food, medicine and everyday items. A simple google search will show you the chemicals they use.

'linked to' is a quite a broad term
it merely 'suggests a connection with' not necessarily the cause for so don't stress about it

Couldn't agree more. Coca-cola has just launched a million dollar advertisement campaign for the use of aspartame in its cola drinks. Apparently, informed consumers in the US and other parts of the world are avoiding the aspartame drink that is Diet coke and coke zero.
Here in the Philippines, aspartame powdered drinks are now available in every public markets. These are actually sold to be mixed and peddled in streets and school canteens. Can you imagine that even the lowly sago at gulaman drink is now actually an aspartame based flavored drink? A kilo pack that can make up to 21 liters of beverage.
How is one supposed to know how many liters of aspartame-based drinks he has consumed. There are aspartame fruit shakes, aspartame coffee, aspartame chocolate drinks, aspartame fruit juices, aspartame sodas... Shouldn't the government take steps to regulate or warn the consumers, most especially that the safety issues of these artificial sweeteners persist?
