June 6th, 2015 11:42 AM #21. More antennae = more frequency diversity. Frequency = bandwidth = bits per second
2. Higher gain the better, works both ways-transmit and receive.
3. No. Your internet connection still depends on carrier. If you have gigabit LAN(that includes your wifi network) and hooked to isp(WAN) with subscribed speed of 10mb, your net speed will still be limited to 10mb.

June 6th, 2015 12:01 PM #3Actually, antennae with different dBi ratings have different radiation patterns. You may need to check your actual home/office layout first

June 7th, 2015 11:14 AM #4thanks 12vdc. abt the antennae, yong dati ko router, 150mbps naka 9dbi, tapos 1 bar lang signal ko sa kwarto,
now me bago ako router300mbpz, with 2 5db ant, naka 3 bars na ako sa kwarto.
so is the improvement due to the 2 ants or the 300 mbps

1. Dalawang antennae vs one
If not, same banana lang yan.
2. Antenna with higher dBi (gain)
Parang gulong lang. Kapag nagpalit ka ng malaking, hindi ibig sabihing bibilis na ang auto mo. Kelangan malakas din ang makina to take advantage of the malaking gulong.
Kung mahina ang router mo, kahit pa kabitan mo yan ng 100dBi na antenna, ganun pa rin ang distance na maabot nya o worst, hihina lalo. Kelangang gumamit ka ng high power ng wifi radio.
3. High mbps routers
Definitely mas mabilis yan kesa mababa ang mbps.

June 7th, 2015 01:33 PM #7Its an improvement due to additional antennae or could be the frequency band your router and wireless device is communicating..take note that your wireless device has a limited transmit power and fixed-gain antennas that are built-in, its your new router transceiver that is now doing the job of giving better signal. Also for obvious reasons, external antennaes will always be superior to those internal ones.
The mbps or bandwidth just follows to the quality of signal. If you have a transceiver working on multiple frequency, it gives you more channels to multiplex the data(frame aggregation)hence larger total data rates. Newer routers esp those N routers operates not just the basic 2.4ghz microwave unlicensed band it could go up to 5gig. As the frequency nears light freq, bandwidth is higher but you need more power to transmit plus the penetration becomes more line of sight.

June 7th, 2015 01:52 PM #8To add... When you say internet, its a wide area network(WAN). Ie., Its the network from your device going to the server of google in hongkong or to the servers of all domains connected somewhere else-the internet. So internet speed is mostly dependent on your carrier/isp/subscribed speed..
When you say LAN(local area network) speed, its the transmission speed within your device and the router(wireless b/g/n/ax; wired ethernet, fast ethernet, gigabit ethernet). Thats why your router has two interfaces the WAN side(going to the telco) and the LAN side going to your home ntwork. Internet bottleneck often occurs on the WAN, while WiFi signal is the LAN physical medium not related to the WAN.

June 7th, 2015 03:11 PM #9salamat sa mga replies!
btw, just noted mura na mga router ngayon. nong nasira router ko last week, sbi ko naku 2k na gasto na naman ito. turned out nakabili ako ng 300mbps with 2 5dbi ant na wireless n for 700petot.

Not just the engine. It's literally a D-Max with Mazda styling, but everything mechanical is Isuzu....
