Suggestions:

Cars: (besides the usual motioncars, caranddriver, roadandtrack, topgear, etc.)
canadiandriver.com - interesting tech articles, as well as decent reviews

automobear.com - for car design and marketing discussions... a bit too geeky for most

autoextremist.com - juicy gossip and rants against car companies... you'd be surprised at how evil Toyota is... real eye-opener, some of the articles. Like the one on how Toyota proclaims itself a "green company" because of the Prius, but its corporate average fuel economy has gotten much lower in recent years because they sell tons of SUVs.

Movies:
rottentomatoes.com - helps in picking what movie you're going to watch next. If it's 80% or higher on the tomatometer, you might like it. If it's 40% below, it may just be stupid enough to be good to watch.
