February 2nd, 2019 12:08 PM #55front loaders have to be watertight all around.
top load is just a spinning bucket with a cover.

Almost got an LG FC1206N4W also - very good value at 23k vs more expensive front-loaders usually at the 30k range.
However, I decided to go for a top-loader instead because I don't think a front-load is worth the money.
First, water is cheap in the Philippines. It would take decades before you recoup the price difference between a top and front load.
Second, I feel that the "superior" washing quality is just hype. We've had both front and top loading washing machines before. No noticeable difference in washing, hindi rin nasisira yung clothes. Today's top-loaders no longer have the violent impeller of cheap washing machines of yesteryear.
I ultimately went for a Panasonic top loader for less than half the price of the LG.

February 2nd, 2019 01:43 PM #58i'm thinking of getting a dual tub, in lieu of the fully automatic single tubs.
cheaper, and less intricate manufacture that i'm equating with less mal-function.
yun lang nga, it needs a more visible physical presence... that our default washing machine can easily provide.
"our default washing machine, her name is manang."
i do not know, why these not-young 'uns prefer hand-washing over machine-washing.

February 2nd, 2019 01:46 PM #60our old electro-mechanical single tub all-automatic, lasted 8 years. we had to finally retire her, because the metal body had rusted out and was in danger of collapsing. at that time, we could not find a craftsman who would fabricate a replacement body.
how long has that panasonic been with you? ok ba?
I would also do some research into the final-design-function performance of carbon fiber hoods...
