Carrier also has inverter window type airconditioner.

Yes, inverter type air conditioners cool slower than regular type air con.

Kolin does not have good quality. The ones who are saying they are good probably don't use them that much.

Window type inverter air conditioner is more expensive because production volume is much lower than split type inverter. Most developed countries use split type air conditioners.

Last time I checked, Hitachi window type inverter AC is 50K but you do not need additional cost for installation unlike the split type (any split type) which costs additional money to install. So probably in the long run, cost for both window and split type is the same.

When you say "The tech is quite new" do you mean the inverter technology for AC or only the ones for the window type inverter?

IMO, while inverter is a new tech, it is a proven one - proven to lower power consumption.

Now, for the window type inverter, I was assuming that it uses the same inverter technology as the split type.

Re: kolin, i made the decision to get one based on my research, a lot of the feedback i collected were from computer shops. I was gona gun for a hitachi but kolin released a window type inverter at the time i was looking into hitachi's. Pagkakaalam ko kolin uses the same compressor as carrier. Anyway too late for me i already bit the bullet, i'll find out soon how long this one would last, medyo heavy use ang pinagpalitan nya eh, about 20hrs a day ang usage.
