Our 2-year -Panasonics have been ok so far. We got the basic versions with no extra features. The Auto Mode spins the blower to above max speed when they are first turned on and the room is warm. They then stabilize when the required temp is reached. Cleaning has been pain-free as the technicians haven't had problems disassembling and reassembling them.

I noticed something strange about them though. I usually set them to 26C for normal day-to-day activities. If the vent is all the way up it feels warmer than usual after a while and the AC spends most of its time idling. But if I set the vent 2-3 steps down then they spool up and it feels colder than 26C. I'm not sure if it's because of the room design but both the 2.5 in the sala and the 2.0 in the bedroom have the same peculiarities. I can set the vent to Auto and that should "fix" this.

I've seen Daikin being used in the maritime industry. If such brand is approved as "marine type", then it should be tough.

Just imagine such vessels tilting at 15 degrees from the vertical, coursing through a swell of 5 meters, yawing and pitching, even pounding! So yes, it should be tough.

For me, Panasonic is a half-notch higher than Daikin.
Panasonic units in my parents house are 8-9 years old and still quiet and cold. Kaka-pull down lang for cleaning and no problems.
1 Daikin sa clinic ni misis nasira at need paayos kahit 2 years old pa lang. Pati yung daikin unit sa room namin sa amorita resort bohol, sira at pinalipat pa kami ng room.

Never iconsider Midea, chinese brand eh meron naman reliable japanese and korean brands.

A unit used at home cannot be compared to one that is used commercially ...

    Why not?
The Panasonic AC at home is used 9pm-8am.
The Daikin AC at the clinic is used 9am-5pm only but still broke.

Maganda din nga to get the experience of restos and commercial establishments to which brand that gives them the less headaches

it depends on the working conditions that the aircon is subjected to.

is the aircon cooling a small room that has little foot traffic and is not subject to external heat during operation, whereupon it cycles fan-cool-fan-cool regularly?
or is the aircon cooling a larger room with lots of people walking in and out, and whose walls and ceiling are constantly bombarded by the hot sun outside during operation, whereupon the aircon is always on cool and never on fan?

    in my opinion,
aircons in residences fare better than aircons in places of business or commerce,
simply because they are cared for less in the latter, where some folks just do not care for them the way home owners care for them.
    opinion lang.

Okay thank u for this honestly im leaning towards panasonic because it is a much well known brand and I have a panasonic inverter ref and still working fine but daikin should be okay too just wondering why your daikin broke down easily in just a short span.
