Nahalukay ulit yung thread after 3 years...
Anyway, I bought my entry-level Oral-B electric toothbrush sa Watson's SM Fairview (near Goldilocks), less than P400 lang. But mas versatile pa rin gamitin yung regular toothbrush

i use oral b indicator brush head. kapag nangalahati na yung blue indicator, replace ko na.

for some tipid tips, you may opt to neglect the blue indicator of the toothbrush, as long as the bristles are still erect, when you brush your teeth properly that is, light and soft motion, the blue indicator may get dissolve faster, you could soak it in a clean water with a toothpaste and observe=)
the indicator only tells you that you will nedd to buy a new toothbrush soon, but it doesnt mean you should replace it asap.
you can also use a big paper clip to clip your toothbrush to prevent it from "buhaghag"(what the english term for this) in my own assesment it could retain the erectness of the bristles for 15-20% so you can prolong its usage by 10-14 more days, it would depend on the quality of the bristles used as well.(i got the tip from dero pedero)

hindi naman ako aggressive may brush. i have never caused a toothbrush of mine to become buhaghag even after months of use. i have a relative na buhaghag agad yung bristles just after a few days of use lang. the reason i replace my toothbrush is when i see formation of dirt under the bristles. this is after 3 months of use pa.

boybi - its good that you replace your brush upon seeing dirt formation, if your brush doesnt become too fray (buhaghag) that would be possible that you brush your teeth properly, with your relative, maybe he brushes his teeth hard and vigoruos, for thinking that brushing hard and quick would make his teeth cleaner and whiter removing all possible plaques, in doing so, he is just harming the gums causing the gums to be abraded, thereby causing toothbrish abrasion on the neck of your teeth.
proper brushing entails:
1.a sweeping motion on the front
2.circular pattern on the back (left)
3.circular pattern on the back (right)
4.grinding surface of the teeth and the insides/touching the toungue area (upper right)
5.grinding surface of the teeth and the insides/touching the toungue area (upper left)
6.grinding surface of the teeth and the insides/touching the toungue area (lower right)
7.grinding surface of the teeth and the insides/touching the toungue area (lower left)
8.back of upper front teeth
9.back of lower front teeth
10.lastly brush the tongue
do 20-25 repetition on each of the mentioned above, youll end up with 3-5 minutes of brushing, and brush slowly softly=)
for a quick guide, play a song on your mind or turn on your ipod or radio, one regular song would last at least 3 mins=) or play a song on your mind just like while taking a bath, this time, sing with your mind=)Last edited by cutedoc; September 22nd, 2006 at 11:56 PM.

September 22nd, 2006 07:40 PM #50i personally use yung braun electric toothbrush for several months na and i am quite satisfied. I bought mine at shopwise festival mall in filinvest but i forgot the price na. Around 1K plus ata. But you do have to clean the toothbrush thoroughly after each and every use as in you have to dissassemble the brushhead first etc etc..
Sealion 6 would be the practical choice for most people ... an entry into EV world if you don't...
