it depends on what you're seeking.
there are those old school style OTJ and there are new low rider style OTJs.
it can go as low as 20-30k and as high as a second hand 90's car, 100k beyond.
you can even have them custom built by your favorite talyer. or those from cavite that are ready built.
afaik, all OTJ use surplus/second hand/used engines so be careful on your hunting. they may look good, but wont run good.
Toyota 3K engine was the most practical engine known way back, according to my late grand father.
now, i dont have an idea, we did lost our last OTJ a year ago.
goodluck sa hunting niyo sir.

Bakit owner type (awner?) jeep pa kukunin mo?
All the occupants were lucky to just be hospitalized, while the jeep was a total wreck.

We used to have this, have it changed 3 times the engine. It was a Willy's jeep, first engine was Isuzu C221, have it changed to a Toyota 4K, then lastly to an Isuzu C240.
I'm not so familiar nowadays, but way back the more popular engine for owner type jeeps are Toyota 4k or 5R, better look out for a Toyota engine powered jeep, easier on the parts.

Get a boxtype or a pride instead. Kahit na ex-taxi pa yan, it's still better than a jeep.

OTJ na nakita ko nasa 100k pataas
kung ako sayo sa ganyang halaga mag corolla small body ka na lang. madali pa imaintain. parang owner din ang piyesa na kahit saang auto supply may makukuha ka
naka aircon ka pa

They're right. Better that you start with a second hand car na lang.
CONS:
1. jeeps are prone to kalampag after a few years. pangit naman parepair and weld kasi stainless.
2. a brand new jeep costs just about the same or even more than a good 2nd hand.
3. standard leaf springs suspensions, alignment adjustment problems.
4. inaccurate fuel gauge readings.
5. non-aircon, hirap pag tag-ulan attaching plastics side covers.
6. unstable at high speeds and not engineered for safety in case of accidents.
We had jeep as the first vehicle and the woes were endless.
