February 22nd, 2007 04:55 PM #1Hi guys! Salamat sobra sa suggestions! Btw, thanks for mentioning 3M Scotchgard cuz I almost totally forgot about it. Usually, do you spray it on the seat covers or the seat itself? Do you also apply this sa leather seats?
If say, fabric yung w/o seat cover and I spray it with Scotchgard, will it prevent liquids from seeping through (like spilled milk or candy stains)? Or better I put cloth seat covers then spray it with Scotchgard?
So for fabric seats, definitely kailangan ko ng seat covers if kids sasakay right? Or pwede na w/o seat cover then apply Scotchgard on it? I guess I can have the car vacuumed often para di maalikabok masyado.
Sorry once more and I know medyo mababaw questions ko cuz nalilito lang talga ako hehehe!!!

pag fabric choose a color na medyo neutral at di dumihin, kung white kotse mo ok na gray para di din gaano halata kung nabuhusan ng pagkain o ng gatas=)

you can always have combination of leather(or synthetic leather) + cloth. yun side and back is leather but the middle portion can be high grade cloth or suede.
customiseable naman pag nagpatahi ka.

Cloth with Scotchguard treatment is good. I'd suggest you do the Scotchguarding yourself as I've heard some establishments charge an arm and a leg for what is essentially just spraying stuff on your seats (para ka lang nag-Baygon).
A combination seat cover is also a good idea. Cloth on the seating areas and leather/ette on minor areas.
Cloth also seems to tolerate heavy child seats/booster seats better. Some child seat models can be heavy and cause the leather to crack if not maintained.
I don't have seatcovers on my vehicle. I just buckle up kids that ride with me para hindi maglikot and minimize the chances of messing up the cloth upholstery.

Boy C is good. Nakita ko sa Honda City ng friend ko. Sabi ko 'bakit mo inalis seatcover mo?'
Sabi niya, 'Anong inalis, seatcover iyan!'

February 23rd, 2007 12:50 AM #9sir OTEP, just wondering where can i find BOY C? any contact details? TIA. we're planning to buy leather seat covers for our APV.
yes you're right, car/booster seats can cause pressure marks (indentations) to your leather seat covers. but you can prevent this by placing a rubber material underneath your car/booster seat to protect your seat cover from wear and tear... got 3 children and 2 of them are using car/booster seats. to give you an idea here's a pic. i don't think this is available in phils. but you can always improvise.
